“Ain’t it Cool News” website’s annual film marathon Butt-Numb-A-Thon (also known as BNAT) had something to share with the G. I. Joe Live Action Movie Fans. At the 14th BNAT held last 8th and 9th December, 2012 the festival aired a Trailer from G. I. Joe: Retaliation.
The trailer contained the famous Mountain Scene which we revealed spoiler filled info not too long ago. However, the highlight of the trailer was the 3D Conversion, says Ain’t it Cool News. You can read more about it, after the jump. But, mind you… Spoilers!
This new trailer may have been the G. I. Joe: Retaliation Theatrical Trailer #3 revealed by Alberta Film Classifications.
Bad Ass Digest also mentioned the sequence:
“Next we saw the theatrical trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which was more of the awesome same, and then a sequence of ninjas fighting on a mountainside that was honestly breathtaking. It’s so foolhardy of me to be excited about a movie this long in the making, but dammit if that footage didn’t make me excited.”
Description by Film.com
“It began in a hallway, with Storm Shadow throwing ninja stars at Snake Eyes. It looks pretty fabulous in 3-D (even post-converted 3-D) but not as fabulous as Snake Eyes shooting down the ninja stars with a machine gun.
The two fight in a hallway, then crash through a window. They are on a mountain top, at some sort of temple. Snake Eyes is joined by Jinx (I think that’s Jinx – who’s the one in the tight yellow suit? I’m not 13 years old anymore) and suddenly they are confronted by a bunch of baddies. They do what anyone would do: they jump off the mountain.
The killer moment is when they zip across cables up in the mountains, but not down them – they basically hook and jump like Spider-Man, pretty much how you played with your G.I. Joes as a kid. Then everybody swings around on the side of the mountain throwing swords at each other.
The trailer afterwards was terrific, too. The best is when Bruce Willis says to the Rock “I have something your size” and they cut to giant tank. Yay explosions.”

I do hope they keep the "let's throw stuff at the audience" 3D to a minimum. It is too bad that they didn't get to film it in 3D to start with, with a sceenplay written for 3D.
At least the reviewer was positive.
Now
bring on theatrical trailer number 3.

these GI Joe movies focus too much on Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow... I know everyone loves Ninjas but I think they take away from the original concept of GI JOE the American Soldier. It's also becoming the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ish. I guess my point is I hope they bring in the JOE and Cobra before this just becomes Ninja fest 2013. I'm still kinda disappointed Destro isn't in this and they messed up the Baroness. I kinda wish they would have just reboot the whole thing.

And I agree. I could care less about 3D.

I'm fine with SE and SS being in it, but not when their story detracts from the overall movie.
Resolute lost so much time with the personal story between SE and SS which didn't need to be there.
Same with RoC. The flashbacks to SE/SS in training felt out of place and didn't really fit in with the rest of the movie. It was jarring, ruining the flow.
I'm afraid Retaliation will be the same way.
And reading the production notes that DESTRO posted, it sounds like there are two stories: Roadblock's and Snake Eyes. Hopefully Chu handles it well, but could really end up feeling like two incomplete movies.

Snake-Eyes and Stormshadow the whole ninja group really have become the Boba Fett of G.I. Joe:( There are other characters on the Joe team and in Cobra.
