Chris Sims of Comics Alliance recently had an interview with IDW Publishing’s comic series Transformers vs. GI Joe writer and artist Tom Scioli. In the interview Tom talks about the creative process, the large casts of characters, building a fictional universe, and many more interesting things. He also reveals that he has written a comic adaption of the Transformers vs. GI Joe movie… which, of course, is a movie that doesn’t actually exist! You’ll have to read the interview to find out more!

I don't really remember the 2nd transformers movie, but the 1st and 3rd already had a strong military element in them. I don't think it would be much different than those 2 movies. The only real difference is that we would have a vested interest in what happens to the named human characters in the movie.

Ha nice bait and switch Destro.
Tom Scioli is a creative man to be sure, his imagination runs rampant throughout the book.
I think we have all "written" a GIJOE vs Transformer movie in out heads at one point or another like Tom.
It really is a wild book and is a strange take on GIJOE. Not the Transformers so much, they are the same robots in disguise they always were. It is definitely a departure for GIJOE.
I think what is sad is that storytelling has devolved in general so much that this book, with its golden age of comics style of telling a tale, is lauded as original.
I read this because I have to and because I have a morbid curiosity relationship with it.
I don't like the book.
I don't like the childish art and I really don't like the bizarre stories. I think the use of crayons and making the paper look old and yellowed are interesting but not spectacular techniques.
A sad sad state of affairs when a poor example of an old way (but a better way) to do things gets so much appreciation and fascination that it really does not deserve. A for effort, D for execution. The best that can come out of this is that another artist and writer get inspired to change their ways and look at new ways of telling stories and not do things the way that Marvel of DC are so used to doing them now.

Thanks so much for posting this. A lot of people slam this series. I, for one, would rather see this film than the "Chuckles:Files."
I mean, seriously. That is an Amazon TV series. Transformers Vs. GIJOE is the movie we ALL DESERVE TO SEE. Can you imagine this translated from the page to the screen???
WE WOULD ALL HAVE HEART ATTACKS AND DIE IN THE THEATRE!!!

Why not have both that and a kooky crazy Transformers vs GI Joe movie? I say let's do it all.

The art in this comic is so bad it is a freaking joke.

God I hope not...I buy this book simply to support the line.
Its artwork looks like its drawn by children, and the story is like something that same child would write if he had ADD.
I can't wait until its over.

What makes Daredevil so great is the fights. Best fights in a TV show, or maybe anywhere. Also AWESOME cast and the story unfolds expertly.
Chuckles doesn't have the skills or pathos to really make that work in the same way. I'd like to see it, but I am super disappointed this series (T vs Joe) gets no love. A lot of harsh things to say about the art and story. It works for me. I am sorry for those who aren't feeling it.

Terrific art!

Sorry, virtually everything I hear coming out of the writer and artists' mouths over this series is so over-the-top self-aggrandizing that it crosses the line from amusing to obnoxious.
And an adaptation of this G.I. Joe vs. Transformers would indeed give many of us heart-attacks in the theaters...but not because it was good. Because it would be a FAR greater butchery of the G.I. Joe characters than RoC or Retaliation ever managed.
Everything I've seen of the series is bugnuts crazy, and not really in a good way. I get that they're paying homage to underground/indie comics and whatnot, but...sheesh. It borders on being outright incomprehensible. Actually scratch that, it IS incomprehensible.
