I wish I had better news about issue #214 of IDW’s G.I. Joe ARAH The Death of Snake Eyes part 3. The last issue saw Snake Eyes take his own life, and another try to directly step into his “Mask” literally while his body was still warm. This issue is just as bad and in my personal opinion directly dilutes the importance of one of G.I. Joe’s best comic issues of all time.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #214—The Death of Snake Eyes, Part 3
The end of the road for SNAKE EYES… The events of this issue will change G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero forever!
If you decide to read on this review will contain major spoilers and my further disappointed take on the Death of Snake Eyes!
So I just got done reading or not reading G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #214 The Death of Snake Eyes, Part 3 because it’s yet another silent issue of G.I. Joe. Yep that’s right, no words, just a really silent… emotionless… dedication to Snake Eyes. At least that’s how I see it. Even if I loved how they handled the way Snake Eyes came to meet his end (and I didn’t), I would not have wanted to see this issue printed up.
I know a few Joes had tears running down their faces, but the art did not capture the emotional state of the team in way that would have held my attention and made me feel what they were feeling. Once again, it just felt very rushed. The team standing at attention around a US Flag at half staff with Snake Eyes Boots, Sword and Uzi was cool, but not for most of the book cool. The Timber thing was also cool in concept, but the art did not capture the emotion that should have been felt for me to care, and the art was all we had to convey the story and the emotion of the moment.
I’m not really sure where we are going from here but take a look at the Description for the next issue:
“The Death of Snake Eyes,” Part 4. As a hero falls, a new one must rise to take his place. G.I. JOE mourns Snake Eyes and prepares for what comes next…
I guess this is where we get to see Sean Collins aka “Fake Eyes” take on the roll of Snake Eyes. I can’t help but feel this is way for Hollywood to get their hands on a speaking version of Snake Eyes. I really hope I’m wrong, but only time will tell. At the end of the day it’s just a comic book. But as a fan of G.I. Joe comics, I’m still really disappointed on how this is all playing out.
I really want to hear from other people who have this issue, and see what they have to say about it. So make sure to sound off in the thread attached and let us know your take on current events in G.I. Joe ARAH….

That's not Timber. That's a Coyote. Wolves are much bigger and heavier.
The Coyote Spirit, beyond being a trickster, is a mediator between the world of the living and dead, and it was, according to legend, Coyote's fault that the dead stay dead.
Think about that.

It was better left at Timber.....

I may give it a go just to finish off the 'death' arc... but right off the bat I take issue with them putting everyone in their 'toy' uniform just so you know who they are. It's the middle of the desert- the snow team should not be in their parkas- I looked to see if Torpedo was there in his wet-suit and flippers (a la the battle at the Treasury Building)

So, does "Kamakura" not exist anymore? Is "Throwdown" the new/only official moniker given to Sean Collins as he is Shoved-Down our throats as Snake Eyes 2.0? Will he start dating Scarlett next? I think you're right - Hollywood wants Ray Park to utter lines in GIJ3, because they think we're too stupid as a country not to "get" acting by a mute - AS IF Hollywood scribes even churn out WORTHY dialogue anymore. Whatever happened to subtlety? How long until SE is back anyway....if Serpentor and Mindbender and Cobra Commander all came back....this smells like a publicity stunt to give readership a shot in the arm - remember "The death of superman" back in the late 1990s/early 00s....😒 c'mon Larry, you're better than this! Aren't you? You USED TO BE....
As for SE Jr. Aka 'Fake Eyes' 😄 Why not the code name: Xerox?
Is it really true when they say " you can't go home again?"😔

B.t.w. I'm tired of G.I.JOE I.D.W. comics. It's a shame.
