Looks like G.I. Joe is getting a fresh coat of paint. Thanks to CBR.com we have our first look and information at the new series that will continue post Revolution.
From what I read over on the CBR article it will have a more Sunbow cartoon feel and they want more action. Both are good things.
Check out the article over on CBR.com and let us know what you think?

The references to "tight jeans", "air jordans", "pocket chains", "all black converse" and the rest made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Also, Shipwreck looks a little on the hefty side. Maybe it's just these renderings. I feel like Scarlett looks the best so far.

Rock'n Roll looks more like a scuzzbag now, maybe he should defect to the Dreadnoks.

This looks terrible.
I want to like it so hopefully the artwork and the story are better than the cover. ARAH has a cast of skinny out of shape characters. This relaunch has a several soldiers with beer bellies. Why can't they hire Robert Atkins or Tim Seely to draw the characters respectfully.
I am not impressed.

I don't know why IDW and it's writers feel they have to re-invent the wheel with Joe every damn time. 1) The character concepts and designs are there. Stick to them. 2) Don't create a core team. Diversity is what made Joe great. Shake it up and explore some different characters. Why is this so hard?

I just hope this time it's by somebody who likes the idea of G.I. Joe, unlike the last attempt where the writer spent the entire time focused on the rebel leader and the Cobra kid and basically ignored everybody else. They should have called it "Boring Generic Military Comic Guest Starring Some Characters That Share Code Names With G.I. Joe."
I'm all for injecting a little Sunbow-style fun into the book as opposed to the dreariness from before. Honestly, my favorite IDW Joe book was the Danger Girl crossover where the Joes were very influenced by their Sunbow incarnations.
