Two years ago, HISSTANK uncovered a new Hasbro Toy Trademark based on their Micro Machines line at the United States Patent & Trademark Office. It was quickly followed by another trademark for an Animated Series. We were excited, for back in the late 80s G. I. Joe represented a small (but important) portion of the Micro Machines toyline. Hasbro also produced several Star Wars related Micro Machines toys at the end of last year.
The company is moving ahead with more content for the revived Micro Machines franchise and finally we have something relating to G. I. Joe. Last July, Codemasters; the same developer who developed the Micro Machines video game back in 1991, developed a mobile game for iOS. An upgrade featuring G. I. Joe and Cobra vehicles came out this month and finally arrived on Android today.
As stated above, the game features several G. I. Joe franchise related vehicles based off on the Micro Machine toys of the 80s. The list includes (but not limited to) Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank, G. I. Joe Rolling Thunder, Cobra Rage, G. I. Joe MoBaT, G. I. Joe A.W.E. Striker, G. I. Joe Killer Whale and the Cobra Stun. The game also features a G. I. Joe themed tournament and a track.
Of course you can’t grab the G. I. Joe vehicles right away. This EA–Chillingo game is simply littered with micro-transactions (Ha! Micro Machines and Micro-Transactions). It features a blind bag opening session where the player is required to collect all 4 parts of a vehicle before unlocking it. To purchase the blind bags, the player must either use their own money or in-game currency which can be obtained by completing daily goals.
You can download the game from the following links (free to download and play) and check out the trailer, images and more info, after the jump.
- Android – Google Play Store
- iOS – iTunes App Store

I stopped playing when I realized I ain't going anywhere without paying. You have to complete 50 vehicles before even getting a chance to have a crack at unlocking G. I. Joe Vehicles.
