Some fantastic news was received from 3DJoes over the weekend! Collecting the art of G.I. Joe: Volume 4 (1988-1989) has begun shipping to all those who contributed to the campaign! Now, for those of you that picked up all 4 volumes, sit tight! As mentioned in the last update from 3DJoes, work is in progress and they’re currently reprinting Volumes 1 and 2 with some improvements. These are smaller orders, so they are still digital interiors like the originals. These new prints will be marked second print and third print respectively, will feature revised layouts to reflect the evolution of the series, and volume 2 will even feature some additional artwork! Check out the Volume 1 and Volume 2 pages on 3DJoes to see the latest (scroll down to the Option 2: Accufoil Softcover slideshow to see every page of these new prints).
On a related note, the gentleman whom is captured in our front page image here is Greg. I’m of the belief that Greg is a B.A.T., but 3DJoes assures me otherwise. On behalf of HissTank.com, I want to give a thanks and shout out to Greg, as he packed more than 300 books in a 48 hour time frame..and still appears all zen like. Thanks, Greg, for your dedication to getting us our latest volume of “Collecting the Art”. We salute you!
Ok, tl;dr read version –
- Vol 4 is shipping
- If you ordered all 4 volumes, those are shipping as soon as vol 1 & 2 are back from their second printing.
- Greg rocks!
You can catch up on the discussion already in progress after the break!

Holy crap that's a time consuming process you have there, but what a great resource. Thank you for creating this and the time cost of doing it.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the support. Really, it means a lot. Please bookmark the home page and check back often for updates. I've been rolling out new content weekly, and hope to keep that pace up.
It is indeed time consuming, and a little pricey, but it's been my goal to complete the collection and then find a way to share it. I was considering a brick-n-mortar store for a while, as well as a traveling exhibit. Hell, I drug $30,000 worth of AFA/MOC figures down to JoeCon in New Orleans just to share. Then, I found the 3D photography technique and decided the web was the best way to share 'em. So again, thanks for the support and be sure to check back weekly!

I'll totally use it for reference on my customs. The BEST part is that you have them all geared up right off the bat. I'm not sure why all the other reference sites insist on striping them down naked as the first picture you see.
