I think the omnibus is meant to include what the hardcovers include (special missions, etc.), but A.) I don't remember where/if I read that, and B.) I wish we knew if hardcovers are officially dead in the water. If they were, I'd consider selling mine and switching to the omnibus. But I am NOT doing that until they show me they know how to finish what they start.
Bit once, twice shy. :/

Any word on whether or not the bonus story from issue #1 will be included?

That b cover by gallant is incredible! Gawd that would make a killer poster. I've always been disappointed that there aren't more Joe posters available.

onibus is bullcrap! finish the freaking hard covers!! they are so close to getting to the issue 155 goal. why stop now? they are what 10 or so bux more then a onibus, big deal.
i'm not getting the onibus, didnt get all those tpb's either. loosing faith with idw. the combined universe was horrible, the run before that was just as bad. only thing i enjoy reading is the marvel continuation run even if the cop out fix all brain wave scanner is waaaaay over used.

Its very annoying that they will not state what happened with the HC run. They do write nebulous responses though. The people who work at IDW are very immature. They ought to hire a secretary instead of douchily answering the emails as though their mothers never taught them manners.
I think that the fact that Herb Trimpe died was the reason they stopped doing them. I think they made as much from the signed version of the book as the regular edition, so it might not have been worth it for them to do a non-signed version. Maybe they were trying to think of someone else to continue the signed run, like Larry Hama. We can't know because they are too busy sniffing each others privates down there to communicate with paying customers.
If you do the math:
regular version: 10,000 x $30=300,000 SRP so they get like $60,000 from that.
The signed one was $75 x 2000 sold direct on their website = $150,000
(and 100 'artist proof editions - $150 x 100 = $15,000)
Just guessing the print runs of course.

if thats how they act no wonder why their joe book is crap. i'll have to just keep asking them on facebook till they yell at me to stop lol
