Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner spoke to Yahoo! Finance regarding their plans for 2019.
First of all, the company will be moving some of its production out of China and they are very excited for the 2018 Holiday Season despite the absence Toys ‘R’ Us, of one of their biggest retailers in the past.
Speaking of the Christmas Season, Hasbro is looking forward to their latest movie, Transformers: Bumblebee and its home release next year.
Additionally, Hasbro is planning to deliver new movies based on popular Hasbro properties thanks to their partnership with Paramount Pictures. These properties are listed as G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Rom, and M.A.S.K.
Despite the fact that 2018 being a ‘disruptive year’, the company is looking forward to a growth in 2019.

So let me get this straight. They are excited about the movies, but not excited about the toys they are supposed to be making? Is Hasbro still a toy company?

Having said that, I once read a business article stating that if it weren't for the movies and other entertainment which began with Transformers 2007, Hasbro would have gone he way of the dodo at the end of the first decade of 2K.

The way video games are made now can you blame them? Games are now what we dreamed about. Take the Lego Superhero games, both Marvel and DC. We needed to use the action figures to create “Dream Teams” or pit characters against each other. Now in video games kids can do that. And Destroy a city with Hulk while you’re at it. That new Spidey game has him cruising through the city.

Hasbro has been saying in investor meetings they are going to rely on fan driven content to support their brands, they were specifically talking about NERF. However it did hint at the fact that they are moving to become more like a Disney or Marvel than a Mattel or Playmates.
Toys evolve with tech.
They will go from rag dolls, to the age of iron and little tin soldiers, to plastic, to video games, and now to cell phones and tablets.
Games will eventually evolve even further to simulators, virtual reality being commonplace like the Oculus. Back to the Future 2 was correct. You have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy.

01. Simply pay Epic Games whatever they want and skin GIJoe into Fortnite. I'll say it till I'm blue in the face. Do only the 50 v 50 mode - get 50 different Joe Characters, and 50 different Cobra Characters. Drop the Joes onto Cobra Island - and have Cobra defend.
02. Make GiJoe and Cobra figures to match what kids play with in the game.
03. Print money.

I wish we had a like button for Captain Mal's comment.
Perhaps too, a line of joes (for video games) that are sort of like the mashers, but less cartoonish, so you could easily swap parts, and you could take a picture and import your "custom" into the game?

If Hasbro really becomes IP oriented, wouldn't that put us in a better place to see what we want from third parties?
