Destro has built his army of Iron Grenadier troopers from his bodyguards. Chosen for their endurance, tenacity, and pure meanness, these troopers are part of the weapon supplier’s plans to take control of the Cobra organization. They are trained to infiltrate an area, spreading panic and chaos that result in a increased demand for weapons (supplied by Destro, of course). Mercenary to the core, their reward is a prcentage of the profits gained from their endeavors.
Hasbro Pulse has given us an in depth look at the creation of Stiletto, an all new G.I.Joe character brought to life by Bill Nedrow via Kindle Worlds. You may recall that Hasbro ran a contest, where one lucky winner would have their character brought to life in modern action figure form.
Here’s a brief blurb from the article –
Every good story starts with strong characters, and every character must start with a purpose. I never set out to create an action figure; I wrote with the intention of crafting the type of G. I. Joe story that I’d always dreamed of reading. I’d hoped that G. I. Joe: First Salvo would resonate with other fans of the franchise, and when the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received informed me that it had, I began G. I. Joe: Honor. Along the way, I continued to try to craft a character-driven narrative that would stay true to the rich mythology of the brand while still providing a take on the story that was original and unique.
Thanks to Bill, Hasbro and Kindle Worlds, we now have our own Stiletto figure. The entire article is a fantastic read and definitely something you’ll want to check out for yourself. Once you do, join us after the break for discussion already in progress.
Cobra Vipers are the backbone of the Cobra legions. This front-line force is heavily equipped and highly trained for battle. If there’s a dirty job that needs doing, these guys are first in line and not only for the sheer pleasure of causing mayhem. They also get rewards as they move up the ranks, making them willing to follow any orders that give them a chance to earn the favor of Cobra Commander.

Due to multiple Toy Fairs falling close together, Hasbro (along with Mattel) will be skipping this year’s London Toy Fair. Happily however, Hasbro distributor A.B.Gee officially stated that Hasbro’s 2017 toyline will be featured at London Toy Fair by them. The list includes Transformers as well as Nerf. Every S.A.W. Viper is equipped with a gyro-stabilized, cryogenically cooled mini-chain gun that has an auto-ranging optical sighting system complete with infraed night vision capabilities. This means that every trooper has a highly accurate, low-malfunction machine gun that won’t burn out the barrel during intense rapid-fire bursts. Don’t get pinned down by these guys; their weapons have integral sound suppressors, effective flash inhibitors, and powerful image-intensifiers: you won’t hear or see them coming.
Cobra B.A.T.’s are mechanized troopers built en masses to create an endless supply of “fire and forget” soldiers: combat machines that keep fighting until the enemy reduces them to scrap metal. They go in first to wear down G.I. Joe forces, paving the way for a fresh wave of flesh-and-blood Cobra Troops to try to finish the job. They’re a bunch of computerized tin cans with guns, but they can do a lot of damage before being reduced to smoking piles of circuits.
These frontline fighters lead attack units into battle, but they are “officers” in name only. The only real rank they have is over their own little squad of troopers. They are among the handful of Cobra troopers who have shown some initiative or leadership skills, qualifying them to be in charge of others, however minimally. Ultimately, someone has to keep the ranks together and moving with a purpose so that even low-level Cobra forces can achieve their given objective.
Outback was an instructor at both the Survival School and the Jungle Warfare Training Center. Most people are intimidated by wilderness. They don’t feel comfortable where there’s no sign of human life for miles – not Outback! He believes in being part of his environment, not its adversary. As a survival expert, he trains the team to spot hidden dangers when setting up a shelter and to be able to fight in remote, inhospitable environments.
A Green Beret like his father, Vincent “Falcon” Falcone spent his boyhood emulating his dad and becoming tough enough to complete the grueling Q-Course. Scaling mountain, parachuting from planes, rappelling down sheer cliffs, and crawling through dense jungle – it’s all a walk in the park for Falcon. leading a covert team at night in poor visibility conditions and under strict noise discipline seems impossible, but Falcon does it by establishing a solid rapport with his team and earning their respect.
