With only a few more weeks to go before the official launch date, G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra toys have started trickling into retail stores. HISS Tank.com boards member gunslingercbr found a few movie toys at his local Mr. G’s Toys and Expressions store. He found
- Shipwreck
- Neo-Viper
- Deep Six
- Ripcord(accelerator suit)
- SGT. Stone
- Heavy Duty(regular, and reactive impact armor version)
- Cover Girl
- Storm Shadow(12″ electronic version)

Mods, merge this with any other thread if there is something I missed.
While on my lunch break I found ROC figures at Mr. G's Toys and Expressions in downtown LA. They had Neo-Viper, Sgt. Stone, Accelerator Ripcord, Reactive armor Heavy Duty, Shipwreck, Deep Six and Cover Girl (those were the only figures they had, and had 4 pegs full of them), as well as the 12" Storm Shadow (they may have had Snake Eyes but they were stacked about 5 deep with three rows of them).
single figures were $11.99 and the 12" figure $21.99 I believe.
I guess I should have taken pics. if I get out of the office again today I'll go back and get them, if not I'll do it tomorrow.
Mr. G's is an independent toy and gift store.
added a pic of two of the rows of figures for anyone interested.

I have not seen them on pegs Gunslinger...
...BUT I have also seen them in the cases, and the cardboard peg holder upright in the stockroom of a place called...
*drumroll*
SHOPRITE
It's also independently owned and simply branded by Shoprite when the family that runs it sold the name.
They have yet to put them on the store floor, or into the computer because they still have the Wolverine and Transformers 2 stuff in abundance just sitting there wasting away for 3 dollars more expensive than anywhere else.

It's the plan-o-gram slow down, and the "street date" on the box that some retailers abide by, and some don't, that holds them in stock for awhile.
The Shoprite here has never held back for "street dates". They just have a small section for toys. So, it's more a space issue for them.

I'm betting we'll start to see a lot of "leaking" over the next couple of weeks. Interesting assortment, though. Looks like at least waves 1-3 will in fact be available at launch.
Amusingly enough, my local Target put up their little "collector policy" sign right under the G.I. Joe space. It wasn't there a week ago. Basically says employees won't look in the back for "specific styles" (which I presume means specific figures).
I'm betting someone used a DPCI to try to score the movie figures early....

And at $11.99, I can wait.

I would imagine that Kmart will follow their past actions and be the first to release them early.
