HissTank.com Board Member Rulz has posted another review of an upcoming G.I.Joe – The Rise Of Cobra Wal*Mart Exclusive Battle Station, this time of the L.A.W. (Laser Artillery Weapon).
As with other upcoming Battle Station releases, the L.A.W. is a remake of the 1986 LAW that was part of the G.I.Joe A Real American Hero collection.
This time around, the L.A.W. is packed with General Hawk and Grand Slam, with the latter already making an appearance in the RoC line as a Target Exclusive.

Got this as a gift from my wife today,
she thought that I want this too when I bought the Outpost yesterday and she guess that I didn't want to spend much more when I put this back on the shelf haha..
so today she bought this for me when she goes to the mall..
to give me a surprise.. love her..
as the new modern (vintage) battle station this one is Ok..
totally the same with the 1986 (same mold) but a bit different tone color, and this one got a better monitor decals than the vintage.
the dio looks ok as other playset I've review before..
so for the LAW battle station and dio's card there's no regret
BUT.. I really hate the figures in it.. why its not Sci-Fi ?
better have 1 fig in it but its a modern era Sci-Fi with new mold than have this two..
General Hawk, repaint from any other RoC Hawk before,
came with binocular, rifle, and stand. Rifle and webgear also from
his single card version, don't know if its the same as the Hawk PIT version.. even it comes in quite cool repaint but its still sucks, I dont need another Hawk.. specially from the RoC lines..
and the most sick of it is this Grand Slam fig, 2nd appearance in the RoC lines, in this set he is totally repaint of Sgt. Flash 25th anny, that including the laser rifle and backpack, *sigh*
why hasbro..? why.. ??
well.. for this set, the figures in it really drop my interest to buy this, but got this as a gift so I have to keep 'em...

Why is all this stuff coming out NOW? Shouldn't it have been out when the movie was in the theaters?

I'll probably pick this one up, but not too excited about it. The funny thing is as a kid I had this and loved it.
Since, I didn't have any of the HQ playsets as a kid, I would just place the LAW on a coffe table or desk, then, BAM, instant Joe HQ. I also dug the idea of giant laser cannon.
These days, lacking the imagination, and knowing more about lasers, I'm having a hard time accepting a Laser Artillery Weapon. I would have preferred it had Hasbro retooled the set to have the cannon from the Mountain Howitzer set attached to it.
Alternatively, the cannon from the Mobile Artillery vehicle that was released in the 90's (forgot the name). This way it could be a mechanized, auto-loading, Artillery Weapon like the ones being developed today. Hopefully, I find the PTE Howitzer from Big Lots, and so I can go about attaching that gun to this set.
