Just a small update today about the future release of the DIC G.I. Joe series from Shout! Factory on DVD. Brian Ward had this to say about the upcoming release:
“We are working on G.I. Joe by DiC. Due to a NUMBER of other releases that have to come out this year, I’m not able to devote all the time necessary to get it out by December. But I can say that you should look for it not too long after that, most likely. Don’t worry. Time and effort are being put into it. But we didn’t set a date on purpose.”

Brian Ward of Shout! Factory has all but confirmed the release after X-Mas.

YAY!!!! Finally!! Actually I dont remember this series but I'd like to have it on dvd none the less lol now when does Gobots come to dvd?? ;p
Tuskegee Joe says
Release SCOOP in M.E. format too!!! Likely thee first DVD will be "Operation Dragonfire," whereas Scoop picks up the pieces after the "87 movie events. Even if you hate DiC, buy the 1st 5-part mini-series. Of all DiC toons, "Operataion Dragonfire" is thee closest to the spirit of Sunbow (despite its lesser-quality DiC animation). Scoop is greatly portrayed with much potential in his character. A really regular Joe, taking the lead, throughout the entire 5-part debut series.
On a separate note of Scoop, IDW has done a fine job showcasing Scoop. I sincerely hope more future comics + cartoons + sequels can really explore Scoop's great character potentiality. Till then, I'm really looking forward to again seeing his debut in this first ever DiC DVD "Operation Dragonfire"!! Highly recommended!!!

Wow...that's pretty bad. No wonder the classic Joe stuff went belly-up when this was attached to their brand.
RolandofGilead says
I've never seen a full episode. I can't wait to own the DVDs and laugh.
Crimson Rage says
Personally, I don't mind the DiC stuff, finding it infinitely preferable to the animated movie. Sunbow (which I do like) had a metric ton of flaws, but as it came first it's the yardstick to judge what comes after.
