Sad news for NYC and those of us who love visiting this TRU location while in town. Not only did this TRU location have massive displays and amusement park rides, it also held a ton of stock for all the brands we love to collect. According to Commercial Observer.com the Time Square Toys R Us will be moving out in 2016.

Sucks. My littlest boy just went there last week. Dinosaur scared the hell out of him.
I went there once... The massive Lego displays, Jurassic T-Rex and the ferris wheel was all it had going for it, take that away and it's just a run of the mill toy store... so I'd imagine the real estate alone is what killed them.
No, the Blowtorches. So many Blowtorches. It was Blowtorches killed the beast...
Never had a chance to go but every time someone posted pics there was nothing but walls and walls of peg warmers of any action figure line you could think of.
Shit, that sucks. I always made a point of stopping in there whenever I was in NYC. I'm going to miss it.
Wasn't FAO Schwartz at this location before TRU bought them out? I've never been there but it seems more like a tourist spot than an actual store. It's hard for a non collector to go on vacation and buy a toy they could get at their local store.
That is a little foreboding though. The toy is dying. Enjoy it while you can!!!
