From the Kindle Worlds Panel at JoeCon 2015 comes some very interesting new information – In 2016, Hasbro will be creating a figure taken directly from G.I.Joe fiction from Kindle Worlds! There will be a fan vote, but FYI, there will be no Snake Eyes or Storm Shadow here…the fan voted figure will be an entirely new character!
This will be the very first author driven character from Hasbro. There were no images to share at this time, but we’ll keep you posted when new info becomes available!

So Troynos, Wedge and Justin will create a character? Is it a fanfic character or some new Hasbro storyline soon to come out?

The way it reads, it will be one character from any of the G.I.Joe characters found within the Kindle Worlds environment. It also has to be a new character too, so no "name brand" figures.
From what I understand, the nominees will be chosen by the new brand manager. He's indicated that a character like Shooter, who features prominently in G.I. Joe: First Salvo and G.I. Joe: Honor, will be eligible. I started on two brand new characters as soon as I heard about this, but as I'm only 100 pages in to the third book, I don't think it'll be ready in time.

Thank you. I'd love to see Shooter appear as I figure. I spoke to Derryl DePriest after the panel, and he said people had already asked him about cut-offs. He said that they'd have to decide that at some point and let that be phase one before moving in to Kindle Worlds phase 2. As I said, I started crafting some new characters when we initially started discussing this, but as I've only written about 100 pages, I'm still several months away from releasing the sequel to G.I. Joe: Honor. Maybe they'll be ready by phase two and this will become an annual thing.
In the meantime, I think this will be a very positive thing for Kindle Worlds, and I'll be campaigning for Shooter to make the cut and get immortalized in plastic.
Mark said he'd love to do a set of the original lineup and that she'd work perfectly in such a set.

Nice Wedge. When I read this i immediately thought Shooter. Now Lifeline_MD needs to publish some of his stuff since he has many original characters. Sgt Humpty needs to bring back Tales from Castle Destro. Tons of original characters based on Tankers all fitting with the IG motif the club likes to put out.
