Around this time 4 years ago, G. I Joe: Renegades fans were getting ready for the final episode of the series in just three weeks’ time. It was sad to see it go. We never saw it returning back from the “hiatus” and we never had a new G. I. Joe series on the telly since.
Speaking of what we never had… here’s a bunch of G. I Joe: Renegades Concept Art which never made it to the show. Artist Jeff Johnson has shared these on his Deviant Art page and on his Facebook profile. Some of the art are actually dating back to 2010 but they have flown under our radar. It was thanks to Facebook user John Simcoe that we got to know about them.

“I was lucky enough to be one of the guys they talked to about designing the new G.I. JOE show that is currently airing. I also didn’t get that gig. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Oh, well.
They chose Clem and I think it was absolutely the right move. Clem did an awesome job as lead concept and my friend Steve Jones ( aka Jones-z-kitty ) did a fantastic job supervising the character department. Not an easy position, by the way.
But here is one of my unused ideas for a Cobra Guard.”

“This is a sketch I did of Stormshadow while I was working on the new G.I. Joe cartoon. I mostly just did turns on the show with all the really cool character design work being done by Joaquim.
Now that the show is out, I can post some of the character turns, which I think came out very nicely.”

I really miss Renagades. I would love to have seen these come to life. They at least need to give us the rest of the figures like Roadblock, destro, jinx, mindbender, twins, blood, baroness, and all the other I'm to lazy to type up
If Hasbro won't revisit Renegades, I hope the club will. If they can't use the name Roadblock, because of Paramount, then at least give us Marvin R.B. Hinton.
That Lady Jaye is pretty cool.
I know there is no hope, but I would love to have more seasons of Renegades and the associated toys. I can't believe they didn't make RB.

Also like that Cobra Trooper in the long coat which will be an easy repaint of that long coat Destro with the Cobra Trooper head.
Such a missed opportunity from Hasbro. I would have loved to get figures of Lady Jaye and the 2nd Cobra Trooper.

I really thought we would get a kreo series or a modern Sunbow series if not a renegades
I would have loved to see how Renegades could have matured into a larger scope worldwide battlefield type or story between Joes and Cobra like Real American Hero. Too bad Hasbro no longer has much faith in the brand.
