Shipwreck grew up in the shadow of the Navy, specifically the shadow of the sprawling San Diego Navy Yards. He enlisted at the youngest possible age with his parents permission and proceeded to serve with distinction, fighting modern-day pirates, smugglers, and every sort of ocean-going thug. When Cobra Commander eludes capture on land and escapes in a speedboat, Shipwreck commandeers a speedboat and races after the evil Cobra leader!

G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary Shipwreck
Pros
Nice design for an updated Shipwreck
Nice Navy logo
Perfect gear load-out
Cons
Poor execution of an awesome design
Paint on upper arms do not match shirt
Black vest does not snap shut. (line wide problem)
Still has Polly and we really never need to see another one unless it’s a new mold.
Overall
To be honest I really overlooked this figure at first until I got him in-hand. It turns out IMO to be one of the best Shipwreck designs we have gotten in G.I. Joe Modern Era to date. The real problem is the poor execution in the final product. The biggest problem is the paint on the arms is way off from the white plastic they used for the shirt. If it was not for this issue it would be my default Shipwreck I would tell people to buy. The other problem is the awesome vest (which is just jet black that I like) won’t close shut. This is a line wide problem. I have not seen one sitting on shelf that does not have this problem. In the future I hope Hasbro address these issues and puts this figure back out because it’s really a great design. No more Polly’s please!

Awesome figure poor execution.

Good figure, but yeah some real wonky issues. Do you think they intended for Polly to grip onto his "oh crap handle" on the back of his vest? If they did mine doesn't fit/work.

The comic 2 pack Polly is my default Polly... the others are okay, but I like the vintage pose.
However the paint job on Polly's head in this new pack is pretty fancy. I just wish we got Freedom with Spirit as well.

I love this new Shippy! Colors are great; the right mix of green/black/gray.
I wanted his Navy shirt exposed, so I added the black version of DG Duke's harness. I added the DG backpack for Polly, as well as the scuba mask. I actually preferred the paint on the other same sculpt Polly, so I went that route. Then I armed him as I pleased.

Looks like the crotch and legs are in different greens?
I don't care for the star on his shoulder.

This figure has great articulation & overall great range of motion as it has the same body as the 30th Anniversary Renegades Law & Order! You can get this figure in all kinds of dynamic tactical gun toting poses! His right hand has a wrist hinge while his left hand hinges in & outwards, his feet go left to right and up & down but is hindered by his pants! I dig this look for Shipwreck as it makes sense for the character too! Yeah, they could have did away with the star on his shoulder & maybe painted the arm band white like the rest of his shirt (..but neither one of these issues is a deal breaker for me)! Hasbro got it right on this figure with the choice of parts that they used! I will pick him up loose off Ebay; as I do not need a variant Retaliation Ultimate Cobra Commander as to what this figure essentially is! Shipwreck has everything that I look for in a modern G.I. Joe figure with articulation!

I love this Shipwreck. When I saw it, I knew what I was gonna do with it, Chuckles:
I still want a few more as I want to leave one as Shipwreck and use another to make Torpedo. I'm glad the arm is molded in fleshtone instead of painted (like the Retaliation Roadblock with the Arashikage tattoo).

Sorry, but I couldn't care less about the new 50th figure. This remains my default Shipwreck (the best ever, IMO):
