G.I. Joe Desert Duel vehicles with Action Figures bring you an entire battle in one box, and this set includes two 3 3/4-inch scale action figures with two awesome vehicles. The Cobra Basilisk and G.I. Joe F.O.E. Striker are driven by the Cobra Elite Horseman and Philip “Chuckles” Provost, and both figures are fully articulated and longing for combat! The Cobra Basilisk vehicle features an elevating, rotating missile launcher, free-rolling wheels, torpedoes, and an opening canopy for the driver. The Forward Observer Encampment (F.O.E.) Striker has a removable outpost, removable engine panels, turning front wheels, and four-wheel suspension. Yo Joe!

G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary Cobra Basilisk
Pros
Might fit in with the 90’s neon theme
Cons
Odd deco
Overall
The G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary Cobra Basilisk is by far the worst vehicle from the 50th Anniversary line up. I’m not a huge fan of the bright odd deco but I also don’t collect vehicles. It still would have made it home as a purchase because of the strong F.O.E. Striker design and Chuckles figure. If this was sitting by itself at retaail it would be a huge pass.

Not a good vehicle deco IMO.

I really like the stylings on this vehicle. I don't honestly know why as I am not all that into flashy 90s cross colors thing but I do like it. It kind of has a lil bit of a Decepticon look.

I like it, has a Decepticon vibe to it. Seems like it suffers from the same issue the Silent Strike Skystriker does - the canopy doesn't completely close. Could it be the red plastic they're using?
Sgt Jugo says
While it does have a 90's Joe vehicle vibe, I think they should have chosen a different shade of plastic for the canopy and the skipedoes. I did a quick photoshop mock and swapped the red canopy for a black one and it's a night and day difference.
I'm sure there wasn't any money in the 50th budget to cast a brand new canopy, but it's possible Shapeways might make one, maybe something similar to the armoured canopy for the HISS tank. Maybe even adding details like guns on the top or backpacks like the POC HISS tank had along the sides, just something to add variety to the canopy so it doesn't look like a Snow Cat canopy.

I don't like it very much at all. It looks like it was made from left over parts. Get rid of the silver turn the canopy blue and you'd have something nice. If that interests you check out my left for Dead week coming October 1st. On the other hand I think the Awe Striker looks pretty cool.

I really do not like the colors. I think this deserves to be a NF repaint with the red missiles, headlights and accents. I think this should be a Joe vehicle exclusively.
Did anyone notice who the driver should be per the blueprints? See below:

I swapped the canopy, and other things onto a Snow Cat and it looks kinda cool. Almost like a medical cat.

Meh, these color do nothing for me. I'll stick with my Flak Cat.

I have to disagree, I like the deco and paint hasbro chose and like someone said; maybe there is a Decepticon Vibe to it? I'm glad its not just black or red at this point. I see Hasbro did what they could with the Snow Cat to turn into a Cobra vehicle, which I think this vehicle rocks as a Cobra vehicle! I never did like Snow Cat that much, because is was snow bound only! and that's the only place i ever saw it in the cartoons. But now, its Cobra's and pretty much can fit in most environments. The only draw back is I wish they changed the weapons and made peg holes for the backpacks. And this looks freaking great next to the Rail Gun Hiss Tank!!

I really like the Basilisk. I think it is a well done repurposing of an existing vehicle, and I really like the color scheme. Even the missile launcher is inoffensive. Very glad I split a Desert Duel set with a fellow Tanker who was looking for the FOE Striker.
