There have been quite a few awesome kickstarter campaigns in recent history and I’m sure this one will be no different. From the crew at Toy Gear comes the Action Figure Archival Tray. If you’re a loose figure collector, then these trays may be a dream come true for both you and your collection.
Here’s the scoop from the project page –
Toy-Gear is proud to introduce Action Figure Archival Trays as the perfect compliment for quality loose figure collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Indiana Jones, Marvel and more.
Our 4 inch Figure sized Trays have been specifically designed to fit most modern and vintage action figures and provide a neutral, padded, organized long term storage solution. They also make for a great way to display your figures with an acrylic stand or mounted directly to a wall.
We are doing this Kickstarter to help get the word out about our product, and also to build up a large enough initial inventory of trays for local toy shows and online reviewers. As an incentive for this Kickstarter, we are offering our trays at a special lower price than we will be at retail.
Our trays are made from a very high quality EVA material and have a number of compartments equally sized on a tray that is 15 by 12 by 2 inches in measurement. These extremely light but durable trays are easily stackable and come in sets of 4. We will be offering sizes that accommodate figures as small as 1.5 inches all the way up to 7.5 inches. We have designed our trays to fit any standard bankers/office archive box (sold separately) that are easily found at any retail location.
Being avid action figure collectors ourselves, we realized that as our collections grew we were looking for not only a better way to store our figures but a purpose built solution for displaying them. Even moving our collections around and keeping them organized became a big task. We searched high and low and found nothing that would be suitable for our needs. So we decided to make one!
The trays have more uses than for just figures and collectibles, but we’ll let you see for yourself. Head over to the Action Figure Archival Tray Kickstarter Page and get in on project!

Not to be a downer but doesn't this seem sub-optimal? The defacto standard people here got me using was the tackle boxes and it seems like they hold as much or more and for $4 less a case, what am I missing?

Hey there…I think some of the differences between our product and a tackle box are:
-there are no display options for a tackle box,
-our compartments offer neutral padded protection (purpose built for figures),
-our product is easily stackable when storing,
-and lastly ours are a much lighter option.
The latter helps at toy shows if you are a dealer and have to haul loads of boxes around. For more info, please check out our site at Toy-Gear Action Figure Archival Trays For Display For Storage and feel free to message us anytime with more questions!

It's nice to see someone else display their Joes as they appeared on the card art!
I tried to do that the best I could with mine when I had them out on display, but for now they are all "sleeping" in baggies in storage bins... =(
