This looks hilarious.
I like the idea but what is with all the crappy looking art? First there was that ugly looking Transformers vs. GI Joe and now this. I want to see something that looks better than what I can scribble.
I'm loving this. The art is so stylized.
I expected to hate it, but the preview makes it look like a pretty funny little one-off. I'll pick it up!
This is a terrific idea. I've always wondered - what the heck would happen if Cobra actually DID win?! Then they would have to deal with governing the planet. The characterizations make sense here, Baroness and the Crimson twins are business minded and want to encourage productivity while CC is just . . . a loose cannon. I watched the Sunbow episode "Lasers in the Night" the other day, where CC gets a big laser simply to make graffiti on the moon. Even my 7 year old couldn't stop laughing at the silliness of that plan.
The art may not be to my liking, but I'm interested to see where this story goes. IDW has done some great work with the GI Joe and Transformers properties.
I am digging this art.
It has a nice Calvin and Hobbes feel to it. As if GIJOE was a Sunday strip.
Not a bad idea for a one-shot. Cobra actually won and it's the Commander that's trying to muck things up.
Well... that was different. Quite a few deaths that were surprising.
I'm still on the fence. The plot where a villain finally wins is old news, and one where the villain wins and then gets so bored he has to create an adversary has been done to death. Using it for comedy is definitely the right way to go. Making fun of old GI Joe tropes like stupid schemes and zany costumes isn't terribly clever, either. They are just pointing out things the rest of us have been saying since 1983. I hope this has a clever twist that will make it worth while.
