Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner attended the 44th J. P. Morgan Conference yesterday. TFW2005 Network Sites attended live to know what Hasbro has planned for us in the future.
Hasbro stated that a Writers’ Room has prepared what is dubbed as the Hasbro Cinematic Universe. In it, the brand we know and love; G. I. Joe will join together with M. A. S. K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), Micronauts, Visionaries and ROM. Out of the franchises Micronauts will play a major role.
It was also stated that the first movie of the HCU will be out in 2018 (or 2019 if not). So, it seems as though we’ll have to wait another 2+ years for more G. I. Joe content on the big screen.

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed (but I won't hold my breath) that in the meantime Hasbro will at least release more of the concept vault figures. Gimme Cobra Troopers (officers/drivers) and Vipers in every color of the rainbow and I'll buy multiples (10+) of each. Really want Rock and Roll, Tele-Viper, BBQ, Night Creeper, Laser Viper, Echo Fraction Trooper, Clutch, etc... Too many to remember. Plenty of figures we'd all buy that's for sure.
Sounds like Joe 3 is dead. We'll get a few cameos (Roadblock, Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow) in the MASK movie, maybe a figure or two of a "core character" in the movie toyline. They Will either be 5 POA or a smaller scale.
.....or maybe just maybe this is the offical start of the Shared universe, while Joe three is technically it's own thing.
This part of the article gives me hope for some new Joe's in the near future.
Brian stated that the Fan Community is now a significant factor in revenue. Over 20% Hasbro Products are purchased by or for people who are 16 years or older. There will be Fan Specific Products in the future.
First movie of the Hasbro Cinematic Universe to be released in 2018 or 2019? Good...that gives us 2 or 3 years in which we can get actual quality product like Marauders and Eagle Force and don't have to suffer through the unrecognizable hackneyed crap that Hasbro will stamp "G.I. Joe."
I am excited.
