Skinny & General Hawk have come across a really cool find by way of the Deviant Art Gallery of Mr. Ross Hughes. Ross worked on the colors for the cart art shown on the 2016 assortment and shared his work via the aforementioned gallery. What’s really cool to see is not only characters that were released, but those that weren’t. We’ve mirrored some of those images here, but make sure to check out the gallery linked above for the full assortment. Included in the images are –
- Action Man – AM is depicted in two different styles; One Arctic, one urban.
- Snow Serpent – Perhaps a new build? The 2 shown remind me of the TRU Exclusive Snow Serpent and the Snow Serpent Officer
- Cobra Officer – Although we did receive a female Cobra Officer, this one sports a short hair style and a red Cobra logo.
- Shooter – In olive green rather than the black we received at retail.
- Stinger Driver – There’s 3 different versions; 2 that appear similar other than in face mask style and one that has an uncanny resemblance to the Rise of Cobra Ice Viper
- Wild Weasel – We’ve recently seen samples of Wild Weasel so it’s great to see what could have been his potential artwork.
- Rock ‘n’ Roll – The Joe heavy machine gunner is seen here in what appears to be art based on the concept vault version that we’ve all drooled over in the past.
Who knows what the future holds for these offerings, but fingers crossed that we see some, if not all of them in 2017! What are your thoughts on Ross’ gallery? Sound off after the break!

The non arctic Stinger Driver looks like Mutt. That's what I thought he was at first.
Looks like there was going to be a vs. Arctic set with a Stinger Driver, Snow Serpent, Action Man.

Go into the gallery. He has Shooter in green.
Couple versions of Action Man and Stinger Driver.
"Card Art for the 2016/7 line of GI Joe toys from Hasbro. This was such an awesome project to be a part of. I grew up on GI Joes and was able to walk into the same Toy's R Us I went to as a kid in the 80's and find my work on the shelves. Talk about coming around full circle.

Colors by me"

A modern update on vintage version of Duke and Scarlett would have been sweet. Those pics look good.

Looks like card art for the figure. I'm with you, it would be great if we could get him with the next round of figures (if there is one).
