Partnering with Kilburn Entertainment, Hasbro is set to establish Family Entertainment Centers across United States and Canada.
Among the properties that will be featured on these centers is G.I. Joe. Yes; this is the first time our beloved Joe brand is listed prominently on an official Hasbro press release, in many years.
G.I. Joe will join My Little Pony, Monopoly, Mr. Potatohead, Clue, Battleship, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Trivial Pursuit and Chutes/Snakes & Ladders for “an interactive, immersive and innovative entertainment experiences in a high-energy, gamified environment with multiple activity zones.”
With an upcoming live action movie and entertainment zones, it is clear that Hasbro is planning for a revival of the brand.
“Hasbro is committed to ‘creating the world’s best play experiences.’ In our 95-year history, Hasbro has transcended the toy aisle to become a lifestyle brand that both kids and adults enjoy,” Hasbro Consumer Products Senior Vice President and General Manager Casey Collins said in a statement. “Our partnership with Kilburn will allow us — for the first time ever — to offer a wholly immersive and true play experience that unlocks a totally new and exciting way for fans to experience the Hasbro family of brands.”

The press release I just read about the new Hasbro Entertainment Centers lists G.I. Joe as one of the properties that will be featured. What do you guys and girls think that this is all about, and will it in any way create interest in the brand for young kids?

The indoor family entertainment facilities will take iconic Hasbro brands and create interactive, immersive and innovative entertainment experiences in a high-energy, gamified environment with multiple activity zones.
Kilburn Live, in partnership with Fort Worth-based private investment company Goff Capital, a substantial shareholder of Kilburn Live, hired Charlie Keegan, former CEO of Main Event Entertainment, to head the new division that will lead the development of the multiple location rollout across North America.
“Hasbro is a leader in branded play and entertainment, and its iconic brands appeal to a multigenerational fan base.” said Charlie Keegan. John Goff, of Goff Capital, added, “As with everything we do at Goff Capital, we aim to partner with the best and bring in the most qualified people to run our businesses. Hasbro is the world’s largest toy company and hiring Charlie, an experienced industry leader in the location based entertainment space, was a coup.”
"This new concept and collaboration marks our initial step into a wider partnership with Hasbro, a world leading branded play and entertainment company, with one of the best lineup of brands we have come across” said Kilburn Media CEO Mark Manuel. “This exciting new move is an extension of our creative skillsets built over the years and expands on our business of creating and building unique experiences."
Current licensed brands include well-known franchises including MY LITTLE PONY, MONOPOLY, MR. POTATO HEAD, GI JOE, CLUE, BATTLESHIP, HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPO, TRIVIAL PURSUIT, CHUTES AND LADDERS and others.
As Hasbro consumers are looking for more ways to engage with its brands that are loved by adults and kids alike, Hasbro believes that this new endeavor will exceed their expectations.
"Hasbro is committed to ‘creating the world's best play experiences.’ In our 95-year history, Hasbro has transcended the toy aisle to become a lifestyle brand that both kids and adults enjoy,” said Casey Collins, SVP & GM Hasbro Consumer Products. “Our partnership with Kilburn will allow us - for the first time ever - to offer a wholly immersive and true play experience that unlocks a totally new and exciting way for fans to experience the Hasbro family of brands.”

the heck is a Hasbro Entertainment Center?

While the article does mention that G.I. Joe is a licensed property owned by Hasbro, it does not say which of those licensed properties will be used by Kilburn Media for the intended Entertainment Centers.
Any G.I. Joe appearance or mention might possibly conflict with Paramount's Hasbro partnership involving that property. My guess is that Kilburn will select those Hasbro licensed products NOT shared by Paramount, which might therefore exclude G.I. Joe from appearing.
Of course, that's only a guess...

And what’s this shenanigans about creating interest in the brand for young kids? I (I mean we) just want every ARAH figure in ME style 😉

It was announced to the public today that Kilburn Live (of the Kilburn Media group) entered into a licensing agreement with Hasbro to build in both the United States and Canada, indoor family entertainment facilities that include games or activities for families to enjoy together. They have not revealed which specific Hasbro properties will be featured, or where they will be built.
Would G.I. Joe, Transformers, or Power Rangers appear when those properties are already being shared with Paramount and Universal? I doubt it.
My thoughts are that My Little Pony would be the money maker that Kilburn Live would want to showcase.
For an example of Kilburn Live entertainment, check out their NightGarden, which makes its debut this holiday season to transform Miami’s Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Nov. 23 through Jan. 6, 2019. Yesterday, Kilburn began showing photos and publicity advertisements for that.
Now today, they want people to know about their intended Family Entertainment Centers.

I think it will be a water gun shooting game into a cobra's mouth, where the winner pops the ballon first.
