Hasbro is actively in development of a fully fledged theatrical production studio for animation. The studio is set out to develop multiple movies in the foreseeable future.
Together with Boulder Media Limited, this independent production studio is described as “a truly unique studio and academic facility with stand-out identity and world-wide appeal. Hollywood production would truly be happening in the centre of Dún Laoghaire – with regularity”.
The studio will house up to 650 staff members, which is roughly half the size of Pixar Animation Studio.
Hasbro is planning to use the studio for a number of theatrical movies on a long-term repeating cycle. We believe that movies such as Transformers, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe and Power Rangers will receive forefront attention.
Though planned to locate in Ireland; the home of Boulder Media, the plan has already hit a snag with Dún Laoghaire Council declining the use of old Stena Line terminal which is unused since 2015. You can read more about it via Irish Times.

Will see. Hasbro has been saying a lot of things over the years. Things that never happen.

I bet the Mouse is thinking about controlling the marketing & sales of its own merch from the top down. Hasbro is either prepping to lose most of its money making properties, or trying to inflate its value should they be bought by Disney.

A move in the right direction for sure.

They bought out Boulder media in July 2016. Since then they hired 650 employees in March of 2017. They needed a bigger building, relocated three months later. Sold it in May of 2018 and are looking for a newer building. Currently they are promoting their new version of Danger Mouse heavily on Twitter.

Disney's acquisitions over the past couple of decades were all carefully considered and done for very good reasons: Pixar gave them expertise and technology in CGA, Marvel gave them boy's properties (they were concerned they were losing/weren't even in the boy's market), Lucasfilm gave them two storied franchises and related content and 20th Century Fox gives them even more content (gearing up for the streaming wars) and outlets for more adult/prestige films. Acquiring Hasbro would give Disney nothing they don't already have, besides another headache.

Hasbro slways promises such things and never happens.

If this takes off, maybe Hasbro can find a toy company to make licensed toys based on their shows.
