Several German entertainment website are reporting that composer Martin Todsharow has been selected to provide the background score for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.
It was a likely choice since Mr. Todsharow previously worked with director Robert Schwentke and such Director-Composer relationships are most common in Hollywood. Steve Jablonsky is associated with Michael Bay (Transformers 1 -5) while Dario Marianelli teamed up with his Laika director Travis Knight for Transformers: Bumblebee.
The composer has traveled to Japan with the cast and crew to study traditional Japanese music for the movie.
Born in Berlin, Martin Todsharow was a student at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music, where his degree was in piano, counterpoint, and composition.
His most notable work includes the music from ‘The Captain’ and ‘Desert Flower’.
We are yet to hear an official word from Paramount Pictures.

Never heard of the guy but that doesn't really mean anything, as there's a lot of Hollywood composers I haven't heard of.

I listened to the Desert Flower score, I really like this guys music, it is haunting how it draws you in with the melodies, and he can also write action music too. I think he could write some tragic pieces that would capture the tragedy of the Snake Eyes / Storm Shadow relationship.

I believe the Full Force podcast said the composer was going to explore traditional JapNese music. I love Japanese drums but not the atonal music of some Asian countries.
