Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner answered a press question regarding their plans for the upcoming Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins movie during the Q&A Session of 2020 Q2 Hasbro Conference Call.
Mr. Goldner confirmed that they are in talks with Paramount Pictures to move the theatrical release to 2021 and make other arrangements for the same.
“Our expectation is that G.I. Joe [Snake Eyes] will move into a slot in 2021. We are working out the specifics right now with Paramount. But again, as we look at the opportunity to maximize our connection to global audiences and also global retail, we will likely to move it to a slot in 2021.”
When asked whether Hasbro movies will be shifted to VOD in the future:
“I think that people are very desirous about the theatrical experience. We all want to get back to the movie theaters as soon as we can and enjoy the big screen along with everyone else. There’s nothing like having hundreds of people together, laugh at something or ‘Ooh’ and ‘Aah’ at some kind of a big action sequence. We all want to get back there. I think that studios are being very purposeful, as is our eOne team, looking at the opportunity for theatrical releases; clearly wanting to still have that global theatrical audience. There’s nothing like the opportunity to go around the world in a simultaneous way to build that value and the demand of people to go to theaters. So, we don’t see that going away. I just think it’s a matter of when it really comes fully back.”
This is a sad turn of events, but not surprising; considering the global COVID-19 pandemic. Paramount is likely to announce the revised release date very soon.

Update 07/30/2020: Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins Set To Release On June 2021?
Not surprising. I doubt we're getting any new movies the rest of the year.
Better to move it than have the thing disappear into VoD, especially since they're trying to re-kick off the brand.
I'm sure there's plenty of "classic" toys they can get us to buy in the meantime.
Its a bummer for this to happen all now when they are pushing the brand so hard now, the movie would have been perfect. Do wonder if this means movie tie in toys are gonna at least be held back and no have another Retaliation issue with stores stuck with stock for a movie that isn't coming out.
It’s a bummer but sadly I’m not surprised with everything that’s going on atm
It's Déj* vu
They should just put it to On-Demand at $30.00 - Set records and be innovative.
