Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins‘ main protagonist Henry Golding has an update for his fans:
“Just saw Snake Eyes. Holy hell. This is the exact opposite of the cookie cutter, super people movies. Wow. You guys are in for something insane, I can’t wait for you all to get your mits on this beast. Yowzers!!!! Literally grinning from ear to ear.“
It is likely that Mr. Golding has seen a pre-screener of the upcoming movie. Such screeners are exclusive to the cast and crew, and it is also likely that the movie is at a near completion stage.
Speaking to the September 2020 issue of the Empire Magazine, Mr. Golding stated the following:
“It was insane. I have this phenomenal stunt double, but I do 90/95% of everything you see. Apart from swinging off, like a car. Nobody does those stunts apart from Tom Cruise. But I had to do endless fight scenes and high-octane sword-work. I feel as though I can do any action movie coming off the back of Snake Eyes, ’cause Snake Eyes pushed me to the limit.”
Unfortunately, that’s all there is in the magazine. No images, no lengthy details.
It is unclear when we’ll get to see a trailer and the announcement of the finalized release date of the movie.

The more he talks, the less I like him. The cookie cutter Marvel movies have been the only things I've enjoyed in theaters for a few years, now. :/

Well, I for one dig his enthusiasm.

Isn't that origin enough? Wasn't it a bit refreshing, at least for a moment, to buy the Classified Series Snake Eyes and have zero lazy exposition text on the package?
Hell, it's like Hasbro doesn't realize that the best GI Joe origin movie would follow the guy who wrote the file cards. Uncovering small pieces of interesting but arguable history about GI Joe and Cobra. Not a god damn Netflix drama about how Tunnel Rat was bullied in high school and his trench running is a metaphor for the long dark path toward self-acceptance. I don't need a lot of complexity in my toy-based lore.

It bums me out that there is a nearly finished G.I. Joe movie out there, and its going to sit on a shelf for like a year before we get to see it. Reminds me of the Retaliation year-long delay.
If I'm being completely honest I don't have a good feeling about the movie, but its G.I. Joe, so of course I want to see it.

Its his movie is he gonna bash it before anybody sees it? Still hate the idea of him as Snake not a martial artist or action star wish Hollywood stop pushing these actors like that Noah Cintano as He Man. Also i hate the idea of peopld trying to "fix" characters. Won't be sad if it bombs
