Back in April, we revealed the existence of an upcoming series of novels based on the G.I. Joe: Classified line of figures.
Today, book retailers, including Amazon, have set up pre-orders for the first book of the series. Unfortunately, the release date has been pushed back to November from the initial August schedule.
On a happy note, the book will also be available digitally on Kindle devices and apps.
Fans can get a discount by pre-ordering the book.

About the Author
Jon Skovron’s previous novel, Struts & Frets, was heralded by the Washington Post Book World in a review that said, “Skovron perfectly captures that passion–sometimes fierce, sometimes shy–that drives so many young artists to take the raw stuff of life and ‘transform it into something beautiful.'” He lives in Washington, DC.

I'm going to read it, but even back when I was the target age for this book, I would have felt condecended to. Who the hell wants to have a bunch of ordinary kids watering down thier GIJoe?
Unless one of them is named Billy . . .
Now there are some possibilities.

Hmmm. I'm not too interested in the kids in the book but it sounds interesting enough to make me want to give it a try. My brain will refuse to imagine the Joes in anything but their classic gear but that's the fun of novels.

I was interested until I heard about the kids

I’ll stick with the comics, I’ve never read a whole book in my life sadly, got through 5 pages of a Rambo novel once lol for a school assignment, wish I could get through a book though, really do!

It sounds like a full blown treatment of the old PSAs - kids find trouble, then Joes jump out from behind the bushes and offer advice.
Not to be critical, but wouldn't the actual adventures of gi joe make for a better and more exciting story? Just a thought...

Actually, if there will be enough illustration from Phil Noto, I'll get a copy for the art alone.
