Industry insider In Like Clint is tweeting that Paramount Pictures is looking to reboot the G.I. Joe Live Action Movie Franchise (again!?!) with producer David Ellison at the helm.
It is unclear whether Mr. Ellison will completely replace producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who is currently the spearheader of the franchise. Both of them worked together on the financial disaster that was G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes.
Paramount is also reportedly eyeing veteran actor Michael Keaton for an unspecified role within the rebooted Joe universe.
The studio kicked off the live-action G.I. Joe series with G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (2009). The movie was panned by the critics and Paramount course-corrected with a soft-reboot titled G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013). This second unsuccessful attempt led to a hard-reboot with G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes in 2021. With the COVID climate wreaking havoc across the industry, Snake Eyes never reached the break-even point.
Not too long ago, Hasbro renewed its agreement with Paramount Pictures for the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises.
This news comes in light of this renewed contract between the two giants.
We await for more development.
If he’s freed up from Batman after The Flash, Paramount plan to snap up Michael Keaton for their rebooted GI Joe film franchise apparently. David Ellison very big on it. Let’s get that Beetlejuice sequel going first though, please!? That’s what we really crying for!

I stopped reading after this:

Nothing's going to change until that imbecile's gone.

100 percent correct, Bonventura is awful when it comes to GI Joe: He doesn't get it. Nada will be Yo Joe nor successful if this dud is behind it.

Ha ha ha, they're blaming the boycotting of Snake-Eyes on Covid.
The real question is... why? Nobody wants another GiJoe movie. I sure don't.
Shin-Gouki says
As long as that moron Lorenzo di Bonaventura is not involved I'll give it a chance
Fred338 says
It's obvious the movie folks in the first three movies didn't follow GI Joe growing up. Hopefully, they don't make the same mistake this time.

Michael Keaton is one of my favourite actors, so yeah, if Batman joins this movie, then I should watch it.
At this point, with 3 unsuccessful attempts, I would like see to as many favourite actors as it's possible in Joe-Cobra roles.

If it's snake eyes centric you can already count me out. I dont care who's producing it.

For the love of god, keep the figures for the next movie out of the main Classified line!! Produce them as a separate, concurrent line! Sort of like how Marvel Legends does, although I know they mix comic characters in with their movie waves.
