Featuring the iconic series writer Larry Hama (Wolverine) and a murderers’ row of series artists, the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero Compendium Set presents the incredible heroes of G.I. JOE, the terrifying villains of Cobra, and the unforgettable stories that set them on a collision course.

JOE in comic book form.
Skybound and Hasbro have also brought back the hit series G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero to fans, from series writer Larry Hama, artist Chris Mooneyham (DC’s Nightwing, Sgt. Rock and the Unknown Soldier) and covers by the legendary Andy Kubert (Marvel’s X-Men).

The box set was priced at $300 and began shipping to backers in December 2024.
ORIGINAL POST:
People have been asking constantly when Skybound would get around to reprinting the older comics, and we finally have an answer. In the letters page for Duke #3, editor Sean Mackiewicz mentions in one response that Skybound will be reprinting the entirety of Larry Hama's A Real American Hero comics in compendium format starting this fall. (He also says that Skybound would have announced this news before the issue came out, but... they didn't. Oops.)
EDITING to add confirmed details for Compendium 1: October 1/2 release date, $64.99, ISBN 9781534371507, 1,168 pages, collects A Real American Hero #1-50.

Oh, awesome news!
Guess I’ll be selling of my HCs and TPBs…
AutoDecept says
A solicitation for the first book has shown up in the Previews catalog. $64.99, October 2 release date, no listing of what's in it (though these Image compendiums all usually contain around 48-50 issues).
olevelo says
Skybound didn't announce it yet, but Diamond did! Coming out in October, issues 1-50. Not hardcover or oversized (it seems) though. Bummer.

$65 and not hardcover? Is that common for comics? (I just got back into reading them, mostly on the back of Joe.)
Josh Z says
I hope they can do this for Transformers as well.

To be honest I would have preferred smaller deluxe editions in HC with extra content. Although I suppose we might get the ol' double-dip depending on how this one sells.
