G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout Deluxe Bundle Addons Announced For The PC Version

Posted on December 10, 2020 at 11:28 pm by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Video Games

When G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout console versions came out back in late October, the game was accompanied by a Deluxe Version; featuring the Soundtrack and a digital booklet containing behind-the-scenes info.

The same Deluxe Version is now available on Steam for the PC version, but as an addon to the main version of the game. In fact, the deluxe content is split into 3 addons which the player can choose at their own preference.

Content links:

  • Main Game (base content)
  • Digital Art Book and Soundtrack (addon)
  • Retro Skins Pack (addon)
  • G.I. Joe and Cobra Weapons Pack (addon)

All three addons require the base game to function. However, it seems as thought the Soundtrack will work independently; without having to launch the game (as high quality audio files accumulating to 703 MBs).

All content will release on December 15th, 2020.

You can check out more info about each addon, after the jump.

Possible G.I. Joe And Fortnite Collaboration In Development?

Posted on October 26, 2020 at 5:06 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Classified, G.I. Joe Video Games

Donald Mustard; Worldwide Creative Director at Epic Games, hinted at a possible G.I. Joe – Fortnite collaboration during a Zoom call with the fans of the game.

Mr. Mustard has stated that certain objects in the background of his Zoom call will act as a tease on things to come.

“[The Zoom call] was SO fun and SO inspiring! Super cool to hang out with a bunch of awesome people who all LOVE the art of games! Trying to count how many clues to future stuff I’ve hidden into the background of my ‘wfh’ space…”

As noted by journalist Geoff Keighley, who conducted the interview, a boxed Classified Series Snake Eyes was on a desk by Donald Mustard’s couch.

Fortnite characters 8-Ball and Scratch are heavily influenced by Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow respectively. It is likely that new skins may be available for the characters.

It is also worth noting that collaborations are not new to this famous sandbox-styled, battle royale video game. An ongoing collaboration with Marvel has introduced a massive roster of characters from the comic book giant.

Future Expansions Planned For G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout

Posted on October 18, 2020 at 12:40 pm by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Video Games

Gaming news website Gaming Bolt had the opportunity to talk with IguanaBee; the developer behind G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout regarding the future of the game and other tidbits.

Daniel Winkler – creative director and CEO of IguanaBee stated that based on fan feedback, the team will work on expansions for the game.

“Given the game’s multiplayer component, are you considering adding more characters, weapons, maps, or modes to it after launch?

Yes! This is definitely a consideration, and we want to hear from the fans what they want to see in the game. G.I. Joe has a massive universe and lore full of characters and environments we can add to the game. We also can’t wait to hear what modes and weapons consumers want to play.”

He also mentioned the decision for a local multiplayer.

“One of the first pillars of the game was to create an awesome local multiplayer experience. Some of our best memories have been next to our friends and siblings playing games in local co-op. We felt that nothing compares to laughing alongside with your friend solving problems together and celebrating beating a level together, or bragging about beating your friend. Four players lets more people play on the same screen to maximize that multiplayer experience at home.”

IguanaBee Talks About G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout

Posted on October 12, 2020 at 2:49 pm by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Video Games

IguanaBee; the developer behind G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout, sat down with the official Playstation Blog to talk about their upcoming game.

“I’m Daniel Winkler with IguanaBee and we’re the developer behind G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout. The team at IguanaBee grew up watching the animated G.I. Joe series, reading the comic books, and playing with the toys. We worked with Hasbro and Fair Play Labs to create a play experience that reimagined the third person shooter with mechanics inspired and made possible by the G.I. Joe and Cobra universe. It was an honor, and childhood dream, to work with these classic characters. We’re confident in saying G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout was made by fans for fans.”

“We always strive to define our core characters, their unique attributes/abilities and personalities through gameplay as much as possible,” says Rich Zambarano, Hasbro’s Gaming Content Manager. “Because this is a deeply story-driven gameplay experience, and I think we were able to successfully capture that depth for both the G.I. Joe and Cobra characters. I hope players and fans will greatly enjoy this aspect of the game.”

The developer also mentioned that G.I. Joe Superfans will find a special Easter-Egg on the final mission of the story mode.

Publisher Gamemill also confirmed that the game will be out tomorrow on Console (PS4, XBOX One, and Switch). No word yet regarding the PC release.

Detailed Info On G.I. Joe: Operations Blackout Video Game

Posted on October 5, 2020 at 6:11 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Video Games

Spoiler Warning! Please note that this news post contains spoilers from the story mode of G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout video game. Proceed with caution.

We have with us some extensive details from the upcoming video game G.I. Joe: Operations Blackout. This is not a review per se, but we’ll get to that, once we hit the official release date. Now, on to the main event.

The game consists of a story mode and several multiplayer features typical to most video games of this genre. But, this video game is not just another Third Person Shooter with a G.I. Joe coating. The game is in fact a love-letter to the fans of the franchise. Clearly, the developers are G.I. Joe fans. This is a game from fans to fans.

The story mode is NOT in two parts as earlier reported by gaming websites. It’s a mix. On one mission we play as Cobra and the another as G.I. Joe. But the story progression is linear. There are 4 difficulty settings, namely: Action Figure, Government Issue, Man Of Action, and Real American Hero.

There are total of 12 playable characters:

  • Cobra: Cobra Commander, Destro, The Baroness, Zartan, Storm Shadow, and Firefly
  • G.I. Joe: Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Roadblock, Sci-Fi, and Lady Jaye

NPCs include B.A.T.s, Red Ninjas, and unnamed Joe soldiers. We also have vehicle based missions.

There are 17 missions in total. We’ll keep the story details after the jump, so that we won’t accidentally spoil those who are treading the front page.

Any spoilers after this, is at reader’s fault. Don’t say that we didn’t warn you. *wink
