There’s a new update to share with you from the Eagle Force Returns Kickstarter Campaign! –

They’ve begun their tooling phase for the figures (images attached to story). Just a bunch of steel blocks…Fresh Monkey knows it doesn’t look very exciting but they’ll be using these steel tools for a while so it’s a thrill for all involved to see them. The tools will take about a month to finalize then we should start seeing samples toward the end of July…we’ll be sure to share images of those as soon as we get them.

Fresh Monkey Fiction & Zica Toys are also working up the design for the packaging. They were originally planning on doing boxes for the line but they’ve been toying with the idea of collector friendly card backs..like they’re Amazing Heroes line. The Eagle Force Strikes Kickstarter Campaign from our friends at The Drawn Word and Fresh Monkey Fiction is in it’s final week and has long since passed it’s initial funding goal! Thanks to supporters like you, those that have pledged can now expect to receive the following stretch goals –

  • 7 Eagle Files Cards
  • Operation: New Year Mission cards
  • Eagle Island Assault Mission Cards
  • Eagle Force Strikes! Tuck box
  • Mission cards with the Lost Brigade
  • Heroes vs Villains Preview Card

That’s on top of everything supporters were already going to receive! Plus, here’s even more good news: The campaign is currently at $3,440. Once it reaches $3,750, we’ll get a set of Retro Lost Brigade Eagle File cards (a limited run of 100), that includes –

  • Big Al, Pancho, Hurricane, Stonewall, Santini, Kelly and King, Top Kick, Lance, Tygre, Gizmo, Wings, Ivan, Vulcher and Khan

If the campaign makes it up to $4,250 by the end of the week, we’ll get a special edition Goldie Hawk Metallic Foil card! If you have other Metal Foil cards from The Drawn Word, then you already know how awesome they are. If you don’t, then you need one in your life!

Today via the Eagle Force Returns Facebook Page comes this awesome side-by-side comparison of the original Eagle Force Sgt. Brown and his updated persona, Eagle Force Returns General Brown!

Still acting as the Eagle Force Demolitions Expert, many have asked how/why General Brown received a promotion, while Captain Eagle remains at the same rank. No worries, the answer to that question and many more are coming our way via the Eagle Force Returns Trading Card Set.

Heads up, Eagle Force Fans! The all new Fresh Monkey Fiction Fans Facebook Page has just shared a teaser image of the head sculpt for Sgt. Brown, the Eagle Force Demolitions Expert! This upcoming line is shaping up to be spectacular and I for one can’t wait for the kickstarter campaign to begin!

Just in case you’re not familiar with Eagle Force (but by now you really should be!), here’s a quick refresher from the Eagle Force Wikipedia Page:

Eagle Force was a 2 3⁄4-inch-high (70 mm) die-cast action figure military-themed toy line marketed by Mego Corporation in the 1980s in the United States. Produced during Ronald Reagan’s first term as president, the Eagle Force toy line was marketed to send the message that the United States wasn’t going to be “pushed around” anymore.[1] Designed by Bill Baron and Paul Kirchner,[2] Eagle Force was similar to the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy line, which was being developed by Hasbroduring the same period.[3][1]

The primary concept of Eagle Force is that it is an elite United States Government counter-terrorist task force organization composed of special forces experts. In their fictional universe, Eagle Force was created to combat the Roving International Organization of Tyranny (R.I.O.T.), a terrorist organization driven by the desire for world domination. Eagle Force is commanded by Captain Eagle, who wears an eye patch. The ethnically diverse cast of Eagle Force members include Big Bro, The Cat,Harley, Kayo, Redwing, Sgt. Brown, Stryker, Turk, Wild Bill, Zapper, and the female figure Goldie Hawk. R.I.O.T. is led by General Mamba, assisted by Baron Von Chill, Beta Man (an arsonist ), Nemesis the Saboteur, Savitar the Ninja, and a Shock Trooper figure.
