Amazon has acquired Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM) for a whopping $8.45 billion.
MGM is a major co-producer and a co-financer of the Paramount G.I. Joe Live Action Movie Series, including the upcoming Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.
Quite recently, Amazon has entered an agreement with Paramount to produce and stream a brand new TV series based on Lady Jaye.
With this new developement, co-production of the G.I. Joe movie franchise will fall under Amazon as well.
Official Release: During the JoeCon 2018 Kindle Worlds Author Panel, it was announced that Bill Nedrow will be responsible for writing a Marauder Task Force novel. The announcement came at the end of an awards presentation in which one lucky panel attendee was awarded a collection of prizes that included the prototype of the forthcoming Marauder Task Force exo-suit.
The novel’s first draft has been completed and is being reviewed. It will still need to undergo revisions and editing, but it will hopefully be available by the year’s end. The current plan calls for a paperback run to follow an extremely limited number of hardcover editions being made available to the public.
The attached promotional image was a mock-up/proof of concept idea and does not represent the final cover. However, it was used in the PowerPoint to announce the forthcoming project.

Hasbro Pulse has given us an in depth look at the creation of Stiletto, an all new G.I.Joe character brought to life by Bill Nedrow via Kindle Worlds. You may recall that Hasbro ran a contest, where one lucky winner would have their character brought to life in modern action figure form.
Here’s a brief blurb from the article –
Every good story starts with strong characters, and every character must start with a purpose. I never set out to create an action figure; I wrote with the intention of crafting the type of G. I. Joe story that I’d always dreamed of reading. I’d hoped that G. I. Joe: First Salvo would resonate with other fans of the franchise, and when the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received informed me that it had, I began G. I. Joe: Honor. Along the way, I continued to try to craft a character-driven narrative that would stay true to the rich mythology of the brand while still providing a take on the story that was original and unique.

Thanks to HissTank.com forum member Digital Ghost for informing us that Hasbro’s Pulse has posted a few images of their upcoming Fan Choice winner Stiletto from Amazon’s G.I.Joe Kindle Worlds. Set for a November release as a Toys R Us exclusive, Stiletto is Bill Nedrow’s character and you can find all his work on Amazon.com.

Last November the G.I. Joe fans voted through the Hasbro Pulse to choose a brand-new figure for the 2016 lineup based on three eligible characters from the fan-created stories available on Kindle Worlds. There are over 100 unique fan-authored G.I. Joe stories available on Kindle Worlds, and the character Stiletto (from Bill Nedrow’s G.I. Joe: Body Count) was the fan-voted winner.
Senior designer John Violette took the character description from Nedrow’s story and got to work. We knew the Stiletto figure would be unmistakeable facially, with a white stripe of hair in her braided ponytail and a diagonal scar running across her mouth and left eye. Well-known G.I. Joe artist Robert Atkins prepared the initial pencil sketches for Stiletto, which were adapted into the original head sculpt. Brand writers started building her filecard, and an illustrator designed her overall image.
With the head sculpted, an initial deco mock-up was created. While the first concept celebrated Stiletto’s heritage with traditional Thai colors, the overall look felt more ninja-influenced and didn’t give off a strong enough tactical vibe. A simple arm-swap improved the feel of the figure, and a new deco treatment was created as well. You can sneak a peek on the finished artwork that appears on the filecard.

STILETTO!
Stiletto was selected from Bill Nedrow’s “G.I.Joe: Bodycount” novel and we couldn’t be happier for him! His character will make her debut in 2016 in the G.I.Joe toy lineup (yes, you read that right, there’s a toy lineup for 2016!).

G.I. JOE fans made their voices heard this last week, voting for their favorite new character to join the 2016 G.I. JOE toy lineup. Four characters (Adventure Team Marcus, Cobra Blackjack, Cobra Whisper and Stiletto) were selected from the 90+ original G.I. JOE stories available at Kindle Worlds and the fans spent a week discussing, campaigning, and ultimately voting for their favorite. The one-week voting campaign garnered thousands of individual votes and stimulated some meaningful online conversation. Our thanks go out to the G.I. JOE community, to Amazon.com and their amazing Kindle Worlds program, and especially to the four authors whose unique characters sparked such impressive feedback.
Every character received notable support, but the winner is Stiletto, from Bill Nedrow’s third Kindle Worlds novel – G.I. JOE: Body Count. The opportunity to write a character into G.I. JOE lore meant a lot to Bill, “It’s incredibly gratifying to know that I’ve made a small contribution to such a storied and beloved franchise. As I encouraged people to vote for Stiletto, I struggled to articulate how important this opportunity was for me. I hope that the G.I. JOE community will understand the excitement I’m feeling at knowing that my character will hold a place in their collections.”

Hasbro and Kindle Worlds team up for crowd-sourced action figure
The G.I. JOE team is doing far more than listening to their fans, they are letting their fans create the next chapters and figures in the G.I. JOE universe. In partnership with Amazon.com and their Kindle Worlds program, dozens of authors have uploaded their original G.I. JOE stories for fellow fans to purchase. There are over 90 unique, original G.I. JOE stories available at Kindle Worlds and now Hasbro is launching the G.I. JOE Kindle Worlds Toy Fan Vote to create a new figure in the 2016 G.I. JOE lineup based on these original writings.
“I’m so excited for this fan vote,” said Mark Weber, Hasbro’s Manager of Global Brand Development for G.I. JOE. “This feels like an extension of the classic ‘Steel Brigade’ and ‘Create-A-Cobra’ fan authorship concepts that let fans ‘become’ recruits to the JOE or COBRA team, but with a modern fanbase twist. We’re also proud to acknowledge the incredible stories being created by the talented writers over on Kindle Worlds.”
Kindle Worlds provided a list of the top ten best-selling G.I. JOE stories, and four of the authors had new characters to submit for this project. G.I. JOE fans worldwide now have the opportunity to meet four new characters from Kindle Worlds stories and decide which one will become an action figure in 2016. Popular G.I. JOE artist Robert Atkins put together the initial character sketches for each candidate.
