Skybound Energon Universe G.I. Joe Ongoing Series Announced
Skybound has been dropping new comics for Transformers, G.I. Joe and the new Void Rivals since last year, all building out a new continuity where they all exist together. Transformers has been a blast, retelling the coming to Earth story in modern times. G.I. Joe has been handled a bit differently, focusing on the backstories for specific characters – so far Duke, Cobra Commander, Destro and Scarlett. All of those have a main character while showing the threads that will lead to the eventual G.I. Joe and Cobra teams. Plus, how all that is connected to the arrival of Transformers. All of it has been stellar, especially if you like both brands and don’t mind a refresh of the classic lore. I don’t if it’s done well, and this is done well.
Now, G.I. Joe is getting it’s own monthly title titled simply – G.I. Joe. The series will launch in November 2024 with issue #1, and feature the creative team behind the Duke and Cobra Commander mini series. Read on for the full press release and full details.
