Brand New G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant Movie Production Call Listing Discovered

Posted on February 12, 2021 at 3:20 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Movie

Production Weekly, world’s leading production call magazine has posted a brand new listing for G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant.

For those who are unaware, a production call list is a type of classified advertisement where crew can refer and participate in a selection process to work on future TV or Movie production.

On this week’s magazine, Production Weekly also unveils Transformers: Beast Alliance; which was rumored as a working title not too long ago. Therefore, it is likely that Ever Vigilant is also a possible working title for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie by writers Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse.

Additional details regarding the movie is within a paywall. You need to cough up a minimum of $75 to take a peek. However, owing to the fact that the production is still in its infancy, you may only see an address, a telephone number, and a contact person to schedule the selection process.

HISSTANK Coverage Of Hasbro 2020 Q4 And Full Year Financial Call

Posted on February 8, 2021 at 11:57 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Movie

Hello and welcome to another Hasbro Financial Call. Hasbro is closing out 2020 with strong revenue, and HISSTANK is here to report.

Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s chairman and CEO commented “We integrated our acquisition of eOne and while live-action TV and film production was limited, we made substantial progress developing Hasbro IP for storytelling that we believe will lead to enhanced revenues and earnings power from Hasbro brands from multiple income streams.”

” While the near-term theatrical landscape remains uncertain, we see a path to its return and the opportunities in streaming and linear, now and into the future, are clear and compelling for both viewership and merchandise. The combination of Hasbro’s portfolio and eOne’s expertise is unlocking opportunity to expand our brands and launch new ones.”

It was stated that Hasbro is looking at Theatrical Releases which will be immediately followed by Streaming. In fact, they are looking at possible shorter theatrical release windows to accommodate streaming or simultaneous windows.

“As production has returned and we managed COVID-19 protocols to safely keep them up and running, our cash spend on content across scripted and unscripted live action, animated TV, and film in 2021, is planned to be in the range of 675 million to 750 million.” said  Deb Thomas, Hasbro’s Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Goldner is very happy with Transformers: War For Cybertron. “Transformers: War For Cybertron, which is our animated series on Netflix, dedicated to more of the older kids and Fan Community. It’s driven that business in a major way with Transformers; result is quite strong, Point Of Sales good, and really linking all that to our eCom and omni-channel effort.”

On another happy note, Emerging Brand: G.I. Joe has seen growth in Q4.

“We have been building great, innovative products for Hasbro IPs like My Little Pony and Snake Eyes and we are constantly working in partnership with our studio brethren to ensure that we understand the way they want to execute their programs and frankly we’re doing the exact same thing with My Little Pony and with Snake Eyes. We want to make sure we’re maximizing the opportunity given, where we believe audiences will be at [mid 2021].”

Regarding future Hasbro projects: “We are busy developing Dungeons & Dragons across number of dimensions,  we have future iterations of Transformers in number of different places, and we have new creative stewardship that will add great new storytelling in Power Rangers and several other big areas.”

Brian Golder also mentioned that eOne is working on animated TV productions based on Hasbro IPs.

You can check out the slides, attached with this news post.

Possible G.I. Joe And Fortnite Collaboration In Development?

Posted on October 26, 2020 at 5:06 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Classified, G.I. Joe Video Games

Donald Mustard; Worldwide Creative Director at Epic Games, hinted at a possible G.I. Joe – Fortnite collaboration during a Zoom call with the fans of the game.

Mr. Mustard has stated that certain objects in the background of his Zoom call will act as a tease on things to come.

“[The Zoom call] was SO fun and SO inspiring! Super cool to hang out with a bunch of awesome people who all LOVE the art of games! Trying to count how many clues to future stuff I’ve hidden into the background of my ‘wfh’ space…”

As noted by journalist Geoff Keighley, who conducted the interview, a boxed Classified Series Snake Eyes was on a desk by Donald Mustard’s couch.

Fortnite characters 8-Ball and Scratch are heavily influenced by Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow respectively. It is likely that new skins may be available for the characters.

It is also worth noting that collaborations are not new to this famous sandbox-styled, battle royale video game. An ongoing collaboration with Marvel has introduced a massive roster of characters from the comic book giant.

Hasbro Shuts Down Backflip Studios, Statement From Space Ape Games

Posted on October 26, 2019 at 3:41 am by Silver Optimus under G.I. Joe Video Games

Earlier today, a news surfaced regarding Hasbro‘s decision to shutdown Backflip Studios; the publisher behind Transformers: Earth Wars.

Hasbro stated the following:

“We have made the difficult business decision to close Backflip Studios. Despite working with the studio for the past few years, we’ve been unable to find a viable path forward. While we hoped for a different outcome, all employees will ultimately be departing the organization. Affected employees have been informed and will be eligible to receive severance packages. We are also exploring potential opportunities for impacted employees that may be a fit for open positions within our broader organization. Hasbro remains committed to digital gaming in other areas of our global business as well as part of our long-term strategy and we will continue to invest where we see opportunities for growth.”

However, TFW2005 reached out to Space Ape Games; the developer of Transformers: Earth Wars, for a special statement. Despite the closure of Backflip Studios, the developer assured that the game will continue on in absence of its publisher.

“The game has been operated entirely by Space Ape for many years so the changes won’t have any impact on the game or its players. The GI Joe release will go ahead as planned and players will be able to enjoy the game for years to come.”

Backflip Studios also developed and published a short-lived G.I. Joe mobile game titled G.I. Joe: Strike which featured Snake Eyes.

Hasbro acquired Backflip Studios for US$ 112 million, back in 2013.
