The comic book industry has lost one of it’s greats. We’ve received word that Mr. Herb Trimpe has passed away. He worked on powerhouse titles such as the Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and of course, G.I.Joe.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and fans. We’ll hang our flag at half mast today. RIP, Mr. Trimpe. Thank you for your role in shaping so many imaginations.

I never got a chance to get him to sign my gi joe #1. He was supposed to be at 2 local shows this year, but he cancelled both. He was a great artist, and really helped shape the gi joe series. He will be missed.

His art was very iconic for Joe. This is too bad. The great news is that his images will endure!

Funny thing. When I was a child I wasn't a fan at all, but as I got older I became more and more a fan of his art until I finally understood the dynamism, and the Marvel style he evoked through every panel. He was very gifted and talented, and shaped GI Joe more than I think we all realize.

I hear that. His work on the OG 13 makes them seem like Marvel classics every bit as much as Cpt. America or Iron Man, like you say.
