G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra saw the rise of Rex Lewis; The Doctor, as he bided time, gathered resources, and ultimately became Cobra Commander. The figure has started to hit wider distribution and and HISS Tank.com staff member Shogi got his hands on one recently!

The Doctor is an all new sculpt with a lot of accessories. His wig is well detailed but just sits on his head so it’ll fall off fairly easily. The breather apparatus can come off but you have to pop the head off first, it blends into the torso perfectly filling between two straps across the shoulders. The head has a great scarred sculpt with a slight wash to bring out this detail. The lab coat covers the body but can open and allows full mobility. Underneath the lab coat, the body has a lot of detail with all the straps and buckles everywhere. Rex has some medieval looking glove accessories that are used for handling the Nanomite canisters he carries in his opening briefcase. The briefcase has a flexible piece of plastic for the hinge instead of an actual hinge with places for all three canisters and can snap closed. Instead of an actual missile launcher, Rex has a huge grabber claw he can hold like a bazooka. The claws can open and close with the press of a button. Rex "The Doctor" Lewis comes with a removable Wig, removable Coat, removable Breather Apparatus, Gloves, Rifle, Injection Gun, opening Briefcase, three Nanomite Canisters, Grabber Claw Gun and a Cobra Stand.
This figure has so much detail that I didn’t even notice the body had almost no paint apps at all. This figure captures the look of the character almost perfectly, it’s just missing the monocle we saw on a few early show pictures. The accessories are very nice and I like that the mask and wig are removable yet small enough that they look like they could be sculpted on. The gloves are a welcome addition as is the briefcase with canisters, I just wish it had a real hinge on it. The grabber claw is ok, but feels unnecessary. The body can also be used by customizers to make ninjas, Trent Reznor or a more accurate Matt Tracker.
Figure Rating: 9 out of 10

Awesome review Shogi. I gave it a 9 if he had the monocle it would be 10

Bleh. Hated the character on-screen, and the toy's blah too. Looks way too S&M, and not in a quirky "fun" kinda way like Croc Master.
The whole time he was running around in the movie, all I could focus on was that awkward spigot "Snuffleupagus" snout thing, and it looks just as goofy on the figure. Third worst figure from the ROC line, behind CC and the Viper (all of the repaints included).
His only saving grace is I think he could be used for some customs, whereas the CC is pretty limited in parts reuse, other than his legs.

I got this today, and he's pretty cool. I already have the ROC CC in my display so I'm going to use him as a different original villain in a little ministory display I've got set up.
Incidentally does anyone know if his hair piece fits on any of the female heads(sans hair)? It seems a bit too big, but I thought it might be a way to make another female character.

cool figure and great review .

Hmm..without the accessories this is an easy custom into an unmasked, training version of Snake Eyes.
