Ray Park has mentioned on his Twitter account, that he will be reprising his role as Snake Eyes in GI Joe 2 Cobra Strikes:
Good news all! As u might have guessed, I’m coming back to play Snake Eyes for the sequel of G.I JOE, directed by Jon Chu;)He was rumored to return a while back, and later mentioned as 1 of only 3 characters to return from Rise Of Cobra. There’s no denying both the popularity of Park and Snake Eyes, as the latter is a mainstay in GI Joe lore. Out of curiosity, would you like to see Snake Eyes return with an altered costume, for example, sans faux lips/muscles? Or perhaps going further, further replicating/paying homage to the original 1982 Commando Snake Eyes design?

cool, now a more realistic costume please; no fake rubber muscles. I'm sure they can create some very cool all black commando outfit, a la sideshow SE

Honestly Park didn't really do much in ROC. Sommers did not know how to capitalize on Park's martial arts prowess. Perhaps with the new guy things will be different.
As far as the costuming goes, no more rubber muscle suits. It is so 1989 is when skinny Michael Keaton played Batman. Then in Batman 4, they gave George Clooney rubber nipples on his fake rubber pecs.
This lipped faux meat SE has to go.
Get back down to the real thing. Anyone read the Snake Eyes: Declassifed by DDP? It was really damn good and in the end, it exploits what the original design was all about.
Look to the latest POC Snake Eyes commando with interchangeable head for the '85 or '82 version. That is what we need.
Hopefully Hasbro listens to all the griping. I actually sent several letters to Goldner himself. Got a personal letter from their attorney and it was no form letter.
I think Hasbro was put on notice. If this next installment sucks, then there is a problem upstairs at Hasbro HQ. Plain and bloody simple.

To expound upon matters, look to Ninja Assassin which came out in November 09. It stared 80s ninja sensation Sho Kosugi. Really awesome ninja action.
Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are supposed to be these esoteric martial arts virtuosos and all Sommers was able to to was reenact some crappy TMNT scenes. He had not idea how to photograph this kind of action.
In fact, if you watch the clips of SE and SS, you will see Sommers did a lot of jump cuts back and fourth. Bouncing around with angle but in a few shots, you can see just how slow both of these guys were swinging their fiberglass sword props. It was total crap.
Ernie Reyes from TNMT could have jumped out from the side of the screen and started whupping up on SE and SS ass! It was that bad and I cannot stop lamenting about that because I wanted to see this movie for damn near 20 years and Sommers fubared that all up. I will never forgive the mans inability to realize G.I.Joe. Unrealized.
Ninja Assassin came out 2 1/2 months after ROC. It was so much better. I think I will watch it tonight before I go to sleep and think how ROC would had been so much better with Sho Kosugi was the Hard Master!

get rid of the molded lips please. That was my primary gripe with the Snake Eyes costume from the first movie.
