The latest to join the G.I. Joe 12-inch Figure Environment series is Urban Threat – Condition RED. Depicting a lethal trap laid by COBRA COMMANDER to lure a team of JOEs into the blast zone of his cleverly hidden explosives, this environment provides a detailed backdrop for 12-inch figure display. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. The Urban Threat – Condition RED 12-inch Figure Environment is the perfect complement to your G.I. Joe collection.
Urban Threat – Condition RED 12 inch Figure Environment – Sideshow Collectibles Flanked by a unit of hardened VIPERs, the saboteur known as FIREFLY makes his way down an alley to an abandoned warehouse. It is at this location that COBRA has placed one of five stolen bombs with the capability of obliterating everything within a ten mile radius. A small JOE unit uncovered the plan days earlier while retrieving a downed satellite in a dense jungle in Sierra Gordo. Little do they realize that the plan is a COBRA trap to lure the JOEs into the center of the blast zone. COBRA COMMANDER has had the bombs placed strategically around the city with the intent of luring the GI JOE team into the middle of the kill zone. The unsuspecting JOE team is hunting the COBRA unit and FIREFLY in an effort to stop the snake’s plan. FIREFLY and the VIPERs are racing to activate all the bombs with the JOEs closing in on their location. As the snakes have reached the fifth and final bomb they engage the JOEs and a violent firefight ensues as FIREFLY punches in the final programming to activate the bomb. From a remote location the bombs activation code has been received as COBRA COMMANDER gleefully gives the order to confirm the activation and the timer begins. The VIPERS and FIREFLY are now tasked with getting to their extraction point as a squad of RATTLERs closes in to give them support cover. The situation is code red and the JOE’s have no idea they are in the center of this URBAN THREAT.

I know everyone is drooling (or hating on) the product reveal of the Sideshow Collectibles Crimson Guard 12-inch figure, but they also showed more detailed shots of the Urban Threat - Condition Red environment. I guess SSC wanted to up the ante and include not just a rocket or IED with this diorama - this one includes some sort of nuclear device!
Urban Threat - Condition RED 12 inch Figure Environment - Sideshow Collectibles
Price is $179.99 (ouch).
Gallows says
That seems kind of steep unless there is real nuclear material included.
Van Hammer says
Why is the scenery so expensive they should be charging less than 100 dollars.
Davestro says
I agree. They make these environments look so good in the reveals and product photos, but it is because of the extra background, foliage and bases (like sand and stone) they use that make them more that what they are. If these things were less than the figures themselves, I bet they would sell more.
I know that some are HUGE...like the Arashikage Temple, but the Weapons Cache, Waypoint and Urban Threat should be sub-$100.
Sgt Adrian says
these are ok. feel they are tooo small. and like the alpha station...its shorter then the 12" figure
RolandofGilead says
I agree. As nice as it is, there's no way that Cobra Throne is worth $200. Now $200 in a bundle with a Cobra Commander, then sure, but not on it's own.
DESTRO says
The Pre-Order is up.

Black Rose says
It does look kool but, that piece looks really overpriced for it's size.
Darkfire says
I am going to build some of these corner scene diaoramas for 4" Joe's and sell them for $59.99 + shipping. Want them to be painted, extra $40.00.
Wanting to build the Artic Base from Inception.
