Thanks to HISSTANK.com boards member Tom-1 for posting up his Pursuit of Cobra Crimson Guard Custom.
“I would like to present my Pursuit of Cobra (Or, if you prefer, 30th Anniversary) Crimson Guard. Each part of this figure you see – from the head to toe, even the guts and weapons – is cast is colored resin. I think it gives the figure a near-retail look, which is something I find especially important in regards to customs. I’m not so vain as to imply it resembles something you’d buy, but the closer it gets to compatibility the happier I am.”To view the Pursuit of Cobra Crimson Guard click the Title Bar.

Hi everyone!
This is my first custom in a very long time so please be gentle. XD I would like to present my Pursuit of Cobra (Or, if you prefer, 30th Anniversary) Crimson Guard. Each part of this figure you see - from the head to toe, even the guts and weapons - is cast is colored resin. I think it gives the figure a near-retail look, which is something I find especially important in regards to customs. I'm not so vain as to imply it resembles something you'd buy, but the closer it gets to compatibility the happier I am. : )
I must thank my very good friend Alyosha for sharing his methods with me in order to create this figure - thanks to him I have the Crimson Guard I have wanted for such a long time. He has always encouraged (see: berated) me to get back into customizing, so it's fitting that the first custom I've done in years is because of him.
Please let me know what you think! : )
"Like many militant movements before them, the terrorist organization known as Cobra believes in both overt and covert operations. Cobra Soldiers, Vipers and Major Bludd do the heavy lifting, but behind the curtain there is an even greater threat. When their heavily-armed soldiers and deadly war machines fail them or are too cumbersome to get the job done, Cobra turn to their elite - the Crimson Guard. These agents of terror are exceptionally intelligent and professional, forsaking their former lives and commiting themselves entirely to the cause. They primarily function within the infrastructure of America under deep cover - it's accountants, attorneys, bussinessmen, polticians - all secretly standing by to manipulate the system for the greater good of Cobra. Sabotage, espionage, terror. They swear an unwavering oath of loyalty to Cobra Commander, standing by him as loyal guardians in the event of any sedition or treachery. Only a select few wear the uniform on a regular basis, typically while safeguarding the Commander or maintaining his authority where it is needed."
*new
and one for fun to show what he looked like before the paint process:
Griff says
Damn thats slick man. Now you sould do a CG immortal with fred head underneath.
M. Aster Karver says
Aside from the neck being a hair too long (some dremeling in the head socket would fix it) it looks like a cross between a CG and a crimson SW guard
kneroh says
That is so incredibly rad! Do you realize how hard of a time I'm having not making a nazi joke right now? I hate personal growth.
Colonel Bludd says
God hasbro needs to do this!!!
Gyre-Viper says
That's the hotness. Fuck yeah.

Really well done mate, the paint apps are so smooth and spot on. Great job.
spiderpumpkin says
Nice job.
Barefoot Jedi says
That's really intensely incredible.
It looks utterly amazing. Its aesthetics are superior to any actual production interpretation of the Crimson Guard. It manages to be an ideal homage to the original ARAH action figure/character while being something new, and an advanced re-interpretation...something better than the original product, like the new Thundercats show.
Like Kneroh's Cesspool, I hope Hasbro/the GIJOE Club sees this.
