Hey guys;
I'm Nate, I'm the community manager for IDW Limited.
Right now we're putting together a Limited Edition GI JOE Hardcover for you that's scheduled to come out in early 2013, and we've got a question for you.
Each IDW Limited book comes with original artwork from some big names in the comic world. But what we want to know is; do you care more about who drew the art or what character they drew?
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...oice-poll.html
If I could give you a choice of two ways to select this book which would you prefer? You can buy the ATKINS edition and know who drew your original artwork, but not what he drew. Or you can buy the SNAKE EYES Edition and know what you're getting but not who drew it.
Looking forward to meeting all of you. I'm happy to answer questions, as well as ask them.
Thanks!

Given this choice I would take the Atkins edition, as I'm a big fan of his work and I think he, above all other artists, has defined the look of IDW's G.I. Joe. I also like the surprise aspect of this as well.
That said, I'll be looking to buy this regardless of how you do it. Thanks for asking though, and welcome to the 'Tank!

Please no Snake Eyes covers...
I care more about what's on the cover. I collect Cobra Covers, so I would want any Covers featuring Baroness or Destro or good team shots. I don't really care who does the art as long as it's awesome.
I don't like the black and white sketch covers... Full Color please.

There has been some great art and then there has been TERRIBLE art. I am sorry but Alex Cal's art is horrendous...and the "textured" coloring is even worse. If I see another slipshod digital camo job, I may have to stop buying the book. Atkins on the other hand is amazing.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback!
I just want to clarify in case you aren't familiar with the new IDW Limited site. We're talking hand-drawn artwork not just covers. (But I like to hear the cover input too)
This is a hardcover book, housed in a tray case that will come with OA from a bunch of different GI JOE artists.

The artwork is more important to me than the artist. I would rather see a battle shot than a solo figure. G.I. Joe is a team after all.
necro says
I care more about who the artist is.

I would not want a series done by just one artist but a series of images by different artists pertaining to the subject matter of the issues within the Limited package.
If I want a specific artist's work I will commission them or buy their sketch book.
Bleak5170 says
I already have a bunch of Robert's art, (including a couple of commissions), so I'm definitely more concerned with the character. I'm always about the characters anyway.
My concern is actually getting one of these. By the time I get the e-mail from IDW they're usually all gone. :(
Starfighter says
I love the comics and buy every issue regardless (not every cover). However, I really want a comic featuring scans of the original art.
