Eh, I know I'm not da Vinci but there's something seriously "off" about Cover A of the Special Missions preview...

I know what you mean.
Is it just me are do you get a Nick Fury vibe from that cover? Isn't Roadblock suppose to be a huge guy? I mean just look at the Roadblock figures since Resolute Mr. Gulacy. It doesn't even match what he's wearing in the issue.

I had to FORCE myself just to read the free previews for Special Missions. I really do not understand why Dixon keeps forcing Tripwire on us. He takes obscure characters and makes them unlike anything we would recognize in the joeverse. what is the point? He might as well write a different book.
the main series is just okay. Van Lente does a decent job of writing character development, but does not seem to know how to write action.
They need to drop the Special Missions title or get a different writer. The art in that book is so boring. Bring back Robert Atkins.
Why not add Tim Seeley to the book? Devils Due's crew told a much more interesting story and the artist seemed more invested.

I suppose Roadblock has the same power as HELIX in that he can be in two books simultaneously.
Remember when Hasbro tried to phase out RB and replace him with Heavy Duty. That was successful too.

right now IDW's joe verse is such a mess. any negative criticism is just too easy and feels pointless. I feel like everyone involved needs to get the axe. There is so much story potential and they don't use it or waste the page time with made up characters that aren't cool and love triangles that go no where and serve no purpose.
I mean, why not bring in the Cobra Council again that was all killed off. We all know virtually nothing about them. Maybe one or two could have survived and are now coming back for revenge. These people could end up being major players and/or well known characters from Joe lore. It just feels like whenever they get on the right path they just close that book really quickly. I think reboot is in order...but not after first annihilating this universe with a bang by having Golobulus and Cobra-La rise and summon their spores and unlike the movie be successful at destroying earth. the next month...bring on GI JOE #1 with an all new continuity.

"Bloody yanks?"
So Roadpig isn't from the USA in these comics? I know his file card birthplace is a non-existent town in Michigan, but I still got the impression he was American...or one of his personalities was.

I'm digging all four idw titles.

Maybe not special missions as much but van lente's Joe issue eight was awesome! Cobra files is amazing. Hama on arah is getting hotter by the issue. And the revamp titles are finally using hasbro designs.

I was a little bit disapointed in G.I. Joe 7. But I noticed that Destro and Baroness are becoming couple again) As I noticed in Cobra Files, where Flint didn't kiss Chameleon second time. I think that IDW is going to return Snake Eyes' and Scarlett's relationships. Now I hate Mainframe.
