The guys at Fresh Monkey Fiction/Remco just released an update pertaining to BackerKits and provided a couple of images of the figure to check the scale. I’d say it’s spot on. See the images after the jump.

    The time is finally here, everyone! Late last November, we brought you word of an upcoming Kickstarter Campaign for an exclusive Larry Hama action figure from Fresh Monkey Fiction and Remco.

    We're pleased to announce that the Larry Hama A Real American Creator Kickstarter Campaign is now live! Larry Hama has been many things: a storyteller, illustrator, rock musician, storyboard artist, actor, and the creative force behind the 1980's leading action figure line.

    One thing that Larry, one of our creative heroes, has never been--

    Is an action figure.



    Fresh Monkey Fiction is going to change that with the limited edition Larry Hama action figure!

    Standing at 4” high, the Larry Hama figure features an original Hama head sculpt by Nick Whitmore and original art card by Adam Riches. This figure is perfectly suited for adventures at a convention, on a stage, or even tackling the might of a deadline.

    With a goal of only $7,000 to produce this figure, we’re confident more Larry fans like us will pitch in for the most fitting tribute Fresh Monkey Fiction and Remco could think of. This will give us all a chance to honor the man who made action figures more than just articulated plastic, and have him personally hang out with our collections, old and new. In order to do so, you'll have to contribute at one of the following levels -

    • $25 USD - This level will get you your own Larry Hama figure (Add $15 for International)
    • $41 USD - At this level, not only will you get the Larry Hama action figure, but you'll also get a Metal Trading card of Larry and a Mystery Accessory only available through the Kickstarter Campaign! (Add $14 for International)
    • $85 USD - At the top tier, you'll get the Larry Hama action figure and Larry's signature on your Metal Card! (Add $15 for International)

    You can get additional Larry figures for $22USD/$25INTL each (They can only be added in at this price to existing pledges). Each figure comes carded on a bubble and is without a doubt a MUST HAVE for any collection!

    Perhaps Fresh Monkey and/or Larry didn't feel the need to mention it. Since what was posted above is the official press release, we didn't edit to elaborate.

    Either add it to your initial contribution, or "manage your contribution" and add the figure(s) total to your initial pledge.

    For example, if you pledged $25, manage your pledge and add $22 for a total of $47.

    If you haven't pledged yet, just add $22 per figure to the total.

    From the campaign FAQ:

    Go to the "Manage My Pledge" button and adjust that dollar amount in your pledge so that it includes the costs of the ADD ONS that you want, see ADD ON section on the main page for costs. You won't need to specify or identify your choices or number os items to us just yet. That comes later during the Backerkit phase. For now all you need to do is to adjust the dollar amount of your pledge to reflect the total cost of all of the items you want.

    I've never backed a kickstarter. How are the additional figures verified? In other words, if I go in at the $41 level, then change it to $107 for four figures total, how do I know I'll get the four figures?

    Ok, gotcha. Just pledge an amount then pick what I want later, right?

    Yep, exactly. A survey will come out once the campaign is over and you'll be able to note exactly what you want!
