EDIT: This is going to be a tough one. Not a single one is jumping out to me. If it was an option (I know it's based off original color studies), I probably would have preferred just the red and blues reversed (assuming the blue matched the troopers/vipers). I know that's approaching Rip It territory, but he was after my time.

Re-posting my thoughts on them since the pool has opened on here.


C - Very similar to the original Cobras with the dark blue and black.


B - This one could almost be a tie for me as my favorite. Love the burgundy plum color and black with silver highlights. It pops! Also, like others have already pointed out, reminds me a little of the Techno-Viper so he would pair up well with those whenever we get them in the line! I honestly might end up voting for this one instead...can't decide yet.


A - Mostly black, but the silver accents really help the figure. I think I would have liked the eye visor to be red on this one, but I know this is based off of Rudat's original '82 color studies.


D - I like the mostly black with just the little subtle red and silver. This one also would compliment the regular Driver's colors well.


E - Sort of meh on this one. The red is in odd locations and sort of feels like a jumbled mess. But I could see this one growing on me over time. Think I would have liked it a lot more if the boots were all red, both gauntlets were red and if the chest armor was inverted and all red with a black Cobra sigil. Seems a little too similar to the Strato-Viper color scheme in terms of the color placements too. And it figures it's the one leading so far LOL!


F - The only one that I feel is really a dud in terms of catching my eye. The all black is just way too similar to Snake Eyes IMO. I mean, it looks cool. But it just seems to much like SE for its own good. If that makes any sense.

I was originally thinking option E would work best, but seeing them in this image next to the Driver, I like option A better. The black w/ red should be best in theory but the specific design as presented by Hasbro doesn't work as well as i'd like when side-by-side with the Driver.

Would have liked to see a Rip-It version, as I've always loved his colors, but that said, I'm going with D, as it's basically the colors of the HISS itself and, as such, will make for a nice, cohesive unit.
