The next Wave of G.I. Joe Classified figures is finally making it’s way to US Retail and trickling out, in uneven fashion to us all. The fist of those figures to arrive in my hands is the G.I. Joe Classified Crimson B.A.T. and we took some in-hand shots to share with the HissTank.com boards.
I have been reading a lot feedback from fans about this release and I wanted to share my thoughts on this figure. First off this is an excellent choice for a repaint as it builds out my Crimson Guard army build and slots well on the shelf with the Crimson Twins and Snake Supreme Cobra Commander. I hope one day soon after the Arctic B.A.T.s filter out we get a Dreadnok B.A.T. to add to the Dreadnok ranks.
The hot discussion on the forum right now is what some are viewing as QC issues. The V1 original Cobra B.A.T. has extremely tight hip joints and could lead to the ball joint breaking if you were not careful. The Crimson B.A.T. has looser hip joints (not a QC issue) that do not hinder the ability to hold a action pose. They are made from the same exact plastic as the V1 B.A.T. and Python Patrol B.A.T. as are all G.I. Joe Classified Figures. The regular hand attachment fits tight and firm into the arm socket but is very loose in the back-pack and will fall out if turned upside down. No other problems with the arm attachments outside of this small issue. I don’t plan on displaying my figures upside down so this is not an issue for my collector shelf. The Arm and Neck joints are also a little looser then the V1 Cobra B.A.T. but again do not effect the ability of the Crimson B.A.T. to hold weapons weight and hold a pose. Same goes for the neck joint, you actually have more movement allowing for a better pose.
I do not know if these were updated in the factory under the instruction from Hasbro to fix the overly tight hip ball joints. But after inspecting each version of the B.A.T. and putting it through posing tests I would prefer the Crimson B.A.T. hips over the super stiff V1 B.A.T. due to the chance of breaking the hip if handled incorrectly.
Anyway that’s my take on the situation and I look forward to the ongoing discussion of the boards. Enjoy the images and I will see you there shortly.

This isn't early at all.
Just consider it the thread version of a pre-order.
Yet by writing this Target will put a hold on my credit card and then ask me each week to not delete this post.
