Compared with Rise Of Cobra, information for G.I. Joe Retaliation has come about less frequently. Not surprisingly, the latest news that has created a stir on the internet has been the release of the G.I. Joe Retaliation 3D Poster. Interestingly enough, Cinema Blend posted a recent article about that very poster, which included a few interesting statements about Channing Tatum:
“All signs pointed to Rise of Cobra star Channing Tatum being killed off early in the film, apparently at his own request— Tatum knew his career was going places and he didn’t want to be shackled to this franchise. The producers allowed it, but then early in 2012 it was clear that the double whammy of The Vow and 21 Jump Street had made Tatum far too big a star to kill off. Tatum went back in for reshoots, the movie was recut, and now you just have to take a look at the film’s brand-new poster to realize he’s a much bigger part in “
Whether you heard that Tatum never went back for reshoots, or that he did, well, this is the latest news to keep you on your toes.

Yeah, he's too big in the poster...I wouldn't miss him though if he still kicks the bucket.

At least he hasn't called RoC an utter disaster and regrets doing like some of the other "big stars" attached to the first film.
I do wonder if his reshoots were to allow him to "pass the torch" to Johnson's Roadblock while still leaving an "out" for him to come back. If his stock as an actor continues to grow, I don't view it as inconceivable that Paramount might woo him back for one or two more.

In other words, Tatum's in it for the money and nothing more. Not a shock considering his previous stage career. I won't miss him if there's a third flick. With a real star like The Rock, this one will still be good.

yep its his fault we've had to wait so long.
Shin Densetsu says
It's hilarious that most of the fanboys seemed to want him out, yet HE HIMSELF wanted to be gone too!
