Take a look at this amazing custom 50th Anniversary G.I.Joe Arctic S.L.A.M. tank by Hisstank.com forum member tommyboyhiss! So, listen to this – Not only is this his first custom, but the guy knocked it out of the park with the inclusion of an Arctic Environment Dio as well! Before we get in to that, let’s talk about the S.L.A.M. (Strategic Long-Range Artillery Machine)
The attention to detailed invested in this small, yet versatile piece of battlefield equipment is immediately noticeable. From painted controls to hand painted camo, Tommy really did pay attention to every detail you could think of. For those of you that remember the SLAM, those little orange missiles were a thing of nightmares, as they’d always fall off and some how magically sprint across the room, fitting in to the smallest opening they could find. The Arctic SLAM’s missiles are individually painted, so it’s crew of G.I.Joe 50th Anniversary Snow Job and a custom 50th Anniversary G.I.Joe Arctic Flint will have a tough time losing them in the snow while anchoring the SLAM’s Stabilizer Legs in to place.
The backdrop created here is amazing, simulating a real Arctic (or some parts of Michigan) Environment. From snow to trees to an 50th Anniversary G.I.Joe Arctic Skyhawk waiting for deployment, this custom really does have something for everyone. You can check out more pics and share your thoughts after the break!

It is awesome, I would buy a pair in a second. I have one little nit and don't let this take away from how awesome I think it is... but I might have left the barrels and the stabilizers black, just because knowing how cheap the military usually are with fancy coatings like that arctic multicam, knowing that on energetic surfaces and high stress or heavy use items that they usually just go with an OD or black CARC, it looks TOO finished and well presented to come off as real kit. But damn you did an awesome job. It matches the snowhawk perfect.

I considered leaving the cannon black, but decided I wanted the whole camo theme throughout. I might do that on the next few that I hope to put together.

Got a little chill looking at the pics!! Could feel the cold they look so good!!!
One word of advise tho,..your camo looks good, but on vehicles there's an easier way. I have a military scale modeling background, and in modeling we always used stencils to paint camo...spray your base color, lay down pieces of masking film or tape in the shapes, then lift the edges slightly, then spray your second color, remove the stencils, then dull coat.. It gives the edges that feathered look, and you can make multiple identical stencils,so you can give multiple units the identical camo pattern..just a suggestion.
also there's a guy on here that makes waterslides to order. I use them on all my figures to get the cobra insignia. I'm positive he could replicate that sheet..to apply water slides you paint it just like I just wrote, then gloss coat, then decals, then dull coat...and the decals will look painted on.

I feel like I'm promoting him now, lol. I would love to see more use of waterslides on great customs like the one you just made! Stickers are fine if it's raw, unfinished plastic, but once the paint comes out,you might as well go all out! lol.
If you do go this route, and are unsure of application feel free to PM me. I've been using waterslides since I was very young. stickers are for kids IMO. there's some people that are weary of waterslides due to their fragile state, but that's just not the case with his..his if anything are thicker then I like,lol...very durable, and stand up to moving them to adjust their positioning! I was&still am impressed by him! The price for sheets is really good too, less then most sticker sets.. that's why I'm sharing.
