ROC Heavy Duty is one of the first figures I went for when I received my Wave 1 case. I was excited to see how Hasbro would translate this character from the big screen to his action figures counter part.
From an Adult Collectors point of view this figure is lacking in many design areas ranging from the very scary Zombie Eyes to the massive chain gun. Not only is the strap that holds the weapon around the neck undersized, the arms and chest make it very hard to come up with a realistic pose of anykind. The reason why I am hating on this design so much IMO, it was not necessary to over size this weapon to the point of overkill.
They really should re-release this figures with a down sized version of the Chain Gun, that is well sculpted, so that it fits the scale and the figure can hold the weapon in normal poses. This weapon is to key to the character to have it so out of scale. Same goes with the funky eyes, fix this for real, he looks like a Zombie.
The HD Back pack is also an issue with me. Its way to bulky and made from a funky plastic I have yet to see in any 25th/ Modern Era figure.
It's not all bad! I really like the new package art and design. The Art is next to perfect and has the real feel for the character. Each Wave 1 figure has the fold out product poster that has been seen on the web. The sculpt of the Actor is nicely done but the paint on the eyes kills the effect of the realistic look.
There are two extra, in-scale weapons included with the figure, that are a welcome addition to any G.I. Joe Figure.
Another cool way to put this figure to use is to swap out the Movie Heavy Duty head with the 25th RoadBlock head and make a new version to place in your Modern Era Collection.
I have a feeling once all of us view the new G.I. Joe Movie over the summer the characters and designs will mean more to us then they do now. Lets all hope the movie and toys do well so we see a nice healthy Modern Era line come Spring 2010!

I feel we will be seeing many a negative review on this collection. I hope not, but my gut tells me that I need chicken wings, beer.
And that this line will suck. Hopefully not, but I have yet to see anything I really like from it. Snake Eyes is too muscly, the colors of their uniforms blow and witht his review, I know Heavy Duty sucks.
Here's to hoping...

One of the many problems with this movie/Line. This should have been Roadblock.

man i can take a look at that and pass the whole line right up. I also think kids will think that these are stupid has well. The should have never when back to that spring loaded shit!! The guy him self is ok but the weapons are just complete garbage
DESTRO says
Its no so much as the designs of the characters suck, because they are new and have no meaning until we see the film. It just seems they designed the toys with the same brush.
Not all the toys needed BFG to make them mass market friendly and Heavy Duty is one of those.

Looks like you have the right bicep backwards.

Well, at least we're getting this one at some point:

That at least gives us the smaller weapon and more standard uniform. This figure looks cool, but if the range of motion is impact that much, that will definitely be a downer.

The thing is I hate the all black deco, but I guess it's an easy head swap.
