Ripcord has had quite a few figures already in the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra line. The newest one however, may actually be the best(perhaps until the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra version. If you wanted a Ripcord similar to the version seen in G.I. Joe Movie Prequel #1, or in the flashback scene in the movie where Rex fails to escape from a lab that’s about to be bombed, Jungle Assault Ripcord from wave 5 is the figure for you!
Ripcord(Jungle Assault) features distinctive deco and accessories to separate him from the previous 3 versions in the Rise of Cobra line. Is this version of Ripcord worth buying? Click on the discuss button to find out!

I think when ROC wave 5 singles was 1st shown, some Joe fans felt underwhelmed by a lot of new constructs of main Movie characters offered again with the exception of the blatant gem of the coveted Resolute Snake Eyes finally being released. Fans started to warm up when it was shown that the final single wave of 2009 was meant to be an introductory wave to the upcoming 2010 "Pursuit Of Cobra" line. With POC, the characters are themed to environments, & this wave kicks that off with showing us how this will be done. The 1st 3 waves of POC seem to have Duke, a ninja, a Joe, a Cobra, & a new character (or classic reboot fan favorite). In wave 5 of ROC we see this trend start & the additional Joe is in the form of "Jungle Assault Ripcord", & he's a hit!!
Many fans have wanted a more desert-themed Special Forces type ROC Ripcord to match his 1st appearance in the movie... & this one... although not exact, similarly fits the theme & will work for most fans nicely. It gives Rip his 1st more traditional military look in the line.
The color scheme is terrific & is one of our 1st looks at the more digital camo that the military currently use today, seen here on a GI Joe modern action figure, & Hasbro's execution is sharp!!
We see previously released parts placed together on Rip to form a new construct. Desert Duke's arms are used, creating a great range of motion, along with ME Dusty's legs, ROC Shipwreck's torso, Pitt Commando's webgear & boonie hat (which fits his head GREAT btw), & ROC Ripcord's head.
Weapons include Helix's machete & caseless ammo gun, 2 rifles (1 with silencer) both from Resolute Baroness (unreleased at the time of this writing), staple ROC missile launcher, & the ROC stand.
Owning all of the ROC Ripcord's thus far I can easily tell you that this one is far & away my favorite incarnation of the comical & sometimes debatable re-envisonment of the character. Love him or hate him Ripcord has had some of the best representational figures in the ROC line
& I can easily say that the Jungle Assault Ripcord (although not in the actual movie) is the best Ripcord yet!!

The Ripcord and Duke are actually my favorites from wave 5. Snake Eyes is good, but since I already had him, so the excitement just wasn't there.
