Very nice.
The Max Brooks one sounds very cool. Spirit comes across as a bad ass.
Double dose of Bludd. Max Brooks and the RoC version in Operation: HISS
Lots of Joe goodness coming our way.

i'm looking forward to Hearts and Minds. Joe #18 and the Origins issue sound really cool. Sniper battles make good tension, though since it's not set in a winter environment I'm wondering why they didn't take the opportunity to introduce Low-Light. As a huge Snow Job fan I'm not going to complain, though. lol
I'll pass on reliving the past. No offense to Mr. Hama, I loved his stories as a kid, but i'm very happy with what IDW is doing, and one continuity is enough for me.

Isn't this all just a bit OVERKILL? How many series can GIJoe support?
1.
I haven't read any of the current ongoing series past issues two, but I wasn't impressed.
2.
Origins?... is it also an ongoing series? Is it part of the Chuck Dixon universe?
3.
Cobra. One shots from time to time?
4.
Hearts and Minds? More one shots?
5.
Operation Hiss. ROC universe. Noone will care about this book... right?
6.
155 1/2 - MARVEL continuity. This will probably be impossible to get... I'm excited.
7.
Trade Paperbacks of Devils Due continuity? Why? Is there a demand for that?
Troynos says
I think they're biting off more then they can chew, but as long as after the dust settles (if they get to big and collapse) there's at least one Joe book I'll be happy.
Nothing wrong with one-shots as long as they're in continuity.
Trooper13 says
Well is the RoC book going to be an ongoing? They said it takes place between the two movies, does that mean it's a way to gauge the audience's loyalty to the brand, and just a way to keep it in peoples faces so they don't forget about it?
That is an awful lot of books. As long as the IDW books keep going I'll be happy. I think it's kind of lame they are restarting the old Marvel title. While I worry that the "Marvel" title and the Core books will be so similar that they'll cut each others throats, I really don't think he RoC book will fair all that well in the long run.
Troynos says
Right now the RoC is a 4 issue limited, if I remember correctly.
I think it's just to keep the continuity active, like the O:H web commercial, until the PoC stuff hits in August.
Yeah, relaunching the Marvel one is an odd decision.
I'm not sure how that's going to work really.
Grunt1162 says
Why not? I'll read the Marvel continuity right along with the new stuff. This is what a lot of people were talking about when IDW anouced the reboot, going back to Marvel 155 and undoing DDP. Maybe they just want to even up the Marvel run to 160 so the TPB will be 10 issues each?
Imperial_Ozma says
My only concern is if their continuing the Marvel continuity that it'll ignore the Devil's Due stuff... I really don't think we need two different versions of what happened after 155.
