On October 10th, Hasbro took in Greg Mooradian to oversee the company’s film division Allspark Pictures. With it, we received information on the company’s plans regarding its properties.
Though Allspark Pictures will oversee development of movies such as My Little Pony and Stretch Armstrong, Transformers and G. I. Joe will remain at the hands of Paramount Pictures with Hasbro merely acting as a producer.
“Hasbro has hired seasoned veteran Greg Mooradian to oversee the company’s film division, Allspark Pictures, as it attempts to create a full-fledged movie studio. As president of Allspark, he will oversee film and television production starting in January. Sources say the company has been making an effort to raise money to start its own studio for some time, and is trying to attract funding in the nine-figure range in order to properly develop its own slate of films. The hope is to transform itself into an industry player to rival Marvel Studios.
There’s a longstanding relationship between the companies. Paramount has successfully made films based on Hasbro characters like Transformers and G.I. Joe. Those franchises will not be a part of the new pact. Paramount develops any movies featuring these characters, with Hasbro serving as a producer.”
We do not know how this will affect the upcoming Hasbro Cinematic Universe, where G. I. Joe is supposed to be a part of; alongside other Hasbro properties such as M.A.S.K., Micronauts and Visionaries. Two months ago G. I. Joe was reinstated among Hasbro’s portfolio under Challenger Brands. It has been 4+ years since the last G. I. Joe Live Action Movie with G. I. Joe 3 in ‘development hell’ since early 2016. Talks of a reboot blossomed earlier this year.

Doesn't look like much will change for Joe.

Paramount is a disaster and this will not help at all. With each announcement, I'm less optimistic that the G.I. Joe revival and movie will succeed.

I would also contend that it is fairly fast and loose to use the phrase "hasbro cinematic universe", until there is some sort of cross over. regardless of how good, bad, or other they happen to be.
g.i. joe has been a strong other so far.

Lets hope they can start up a 3rd g.i. joe movie? Or reboot.

They need to reboot it and keep the latest power rangers movie in mind. And do not cast the rock to star in it. More joe vs cobra
